Film Notes and Highlights

Braelon Allen burst onto the scene as a Freshman at age 17. He was much better in the traditional style Wisconsin ran before they switched to a spread system in 2023. At times, Allen struggles with vision and does not see cutback lanes – he just puts his head down and goes up the middle. This works at times because he is a downhill runner and a force to push defenders back.

With the new system in 2023, he did not look as decisive as a runner. However, he did show his ability as a receiver. Braelon Allen is young and still learning the position, so his ceiling could still be very high. He does not have elite speed and that is shown at times with his lack of burst. I think consistency will be the biggest thing for Allen. At times it looks like he can run through the whole defense and at other times he goes down too easily for his size. – Brandon Haye
