Film Notes and Highlights

Byron Murphy is a space eater. His wide base allows him the lateral agility to split double teams that he faces on a consistent basis. He has quick hands and good short area agility. Despite not having any true power or finesse pass rushing moves, Murphy finds himself in the backfield on numerous occasions – usually through brute force. You’d like to see him perform better against the run, but block-shedding is not an issue he has. Once he’s able to develop true pass rushing moves, he could become a monster in the NFL. I believe Murphy is the best DT prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft class. His floor could be Quinnen Williams while his ceiling could be as high as Aaron Donald. – Thomas Christopher
