Film Notes and Highlights
Devontez Walker has incredible speed and extremely dangerous running a fly route. However, his lack of creativity on his stems is noticeable, using the same hitch-step towards the boundary to create separation against soft press coverage running a 9. Due to his speed, it works often. However, against aggressive (and fast) corners he will become invisible.
Walker’s hands are inconsistent and has issues attacking the ball, which reared its head at the Senior Bowl as well. There is little-to-no refinement in his route-running. He doesn’t get low on his breaks and becomes predictable for educated defenders to cover. A team will fall in love with his speed, but he should be a Day 3 pick. – Thomas Christopher
