Drake Maye has an incredibly strong arm. He can go through progressions when he has time, and can make all of the NFL throws, with great touch on his deep passes. However, he struggles mightily when faced with pressure. When scrambling, it seems as if he succumbs to tunnel vision. Maye is very much a run-first quarterback when outside of the pocket and has little-to-no experience takings snaps under center. He must also work on his deception on play action.
Drake Maye loves to give his WRs one-on-one opportunities downfield. His ball placement in those instances is excellent, although he’ll consistently pass up the check-down option for a bigger opportunity. It seems he struggles to read zone coverages in most cases, and if the man coverage is tight, he will panic inside of the pocket. His accuracy on the run is inconsistent, and can be late on his throws. – Thomas Christopher
