Film Notes and Highlights
Jacob Cowing started off at a smaller school in UTEP and it took him three years until he broke out as a wide receiver. He then moved to Arizona and had another great year, but in his fifth year had a step back in production. Cowing has great hands and shows great balance at the point of the catch. He is a technician in route running and is quick in and out of breaks. He can attack all three levels and is very good at yards after the catch as we saw in the Alamo Bowl against Oklahoma. At Arizona he did get moved around a lot to avoid press but he has quick first step that does help avoid contact. He was in the slot for 70% of his snaps in 2023 so he projects to a slot player who could have an impact with the right team.
