Film Notes and Highlights
Jared Verse displays great technique. He has excellent hand placement and stays active to frequently win against offensive line. It seemed he lost some power from 2022-23, but gained multiple finesse moves and increased his bend in the process. He was asked to be more diverse at Florida State in his final year (as a coverage and spy backer), but his future is as a pass rusher in the NFL.
Jared Verse had a tendency to drop into coverage when his initial rush wouldn’t work. It’s hard to say if that was due to scheme or his own making. However, he does possess great awareness for an Edge. You’d like to see his burst off the LOS be more consistent, but there’s a lot to like in Verse’s game. I have Verse as a late Day 1 prospect. – Thomas Christopher
