Film Notes and Highlights
Javon Baker broke out in 2022 at UCF and had an even bigger 2023. He is a traditional outside receiver that really uses his physicality well. Baker attacks the ball when it is in the air and uses his strong hands to snatch it before defenders can knock down passes. He is excellent on tracking the ball and has great body control on deep passes. A worry I have is his lack of separation because many of his big catches have to be contested. Also only 27% of his production in 2023 occurred in the middle of the field. I think he can work on expanding his route tree and being more effective against zone coverage. – Brandon Haye
