Film Notes and Highlights
Jonah Elliss a finesse pass rusher with a good motor. When he is able to attack first he unloads quick hands on OL and usually wins his rep quite easily. He doesn’t have enough bend to win all of the time, but normally can attack first with a step advantage. He has great stamina and motor. You will rarely see Elliss subbed out of games and he will run 20 yards for a tackle.
Elliss’ burst off the LOS is inconsistent. When he times a snap he can be unstoppable, but more often than not he’s late. Elliss needs to be better at setting the edge. He struggles against RPO and misdirection plays and can get buried by run blockers – including TEs and fullbacks. He really struggles to shed blocks. Elliss has a lot of potential, but he also has a lot of work to do. To me, he is a early Day 3 prospect. – Thomas Christopher
