Film Notes and Highlights
Jordan Travis has improved every year at Florida State. Early in his career he was just used mostly as a running quarterback, but has grown so much as a passer. The injury to his leg late in the 2023 season hurt not only Florida State, but his draft stock.
Travis has a quick release and shows good velocity on his throws. When he is in rhythm he is very accurate and at his best. He is able to throw on the run and shows his mobility that will make NFL teams love him.
Now there are some negatives that I saw that makes me believe Jordan Travis a backup at the next level. He gets happy feet with pressure and throws off of his back leg too much. There are times where he is slow to recognize open receivers early and can make some bad decisions throughout the game. Another problem I noticed was his inconsistency in throwing the deep ball. He had his worst deep throw (20 yards or more) completion percentage in his career at 31% in 2023. Travis could be a high level backup but has enough shortcomings that hinder him from being a full-time starter in the NFL. – Brandon Haye
