Film Notes and Highlights
Kamari Lassiter primarily covered the opposing team’s X wide receiver, and did it well. He shadows receivers against the boundary and shows great ball tracking on deep routes. He will rarely give up a deep ball completion and has adequate speed to not lose those battles. Because of this, he can play too soft in coverage at times and will give up underneath plays. At times Lassiter can try to be too predictive on stem breaks and may get fooled. This provides openings to be exploited, though his recovery speed is above-average. He gets handsy when in the slot and in routes int he middle of the field, which may cause problems at the NFL level.
Lassiter will help in the run game and isn’t afraid to try and place a big tackle. His form and pad level need some work, but it’s encouraging to see from a cornerback. Lassiter is a Day 2 prospect in my opinion. – Thomas Christopher
