Film Notes and Highlights
Marshawn Kneeland has great power. While his speed and agility don’t exactly show up on the tape, he does have a decent speed rush and bend. Kneeland’s go-to move is a power rush stab attack that throws OL back into the pocket. However, he has trouble keeping his feet active and can be stonewalled more than you’d like to see by shorter OL. Kneeland was used a lot in a 2pt stance with a running head start (normally blitzing the B gap). I think that’s due to his lack of true rushing moves while utilizing his great power. Personally, I think Kneeland will have more success as an IDL with versatility. I think he will also be over-drafted by NFL teams. To me, Kneeland is a Day 3 pick with a lot of fine tuning to be an efficient edge at the NFL level. – Thomas Christopher
