Film Notes and Highlights
Quinyon Mitchell is a great shadow coverage cornerback. While he didn’t follow the opposing team’s best wide receiver, he was dominant on his side. Often, quarterbacks refused to test him during games due to his prowess. Mitchell is great at understanding his spacing in zone coverage. He usually plays a soft man coverage, allowing underneath routes early to try and bait the quarterback later in the game. He’s sticky in the red zone, and at the Senior Bowl showed he can be effective in aggressive press coverage situations.
While Quinyon Mitchell isn’t much of a factor in run support, he’s truly an elite cover corner. To me, Mitchell is a first round prospect. – Thomas Christopher
