Film Notes and Highlights

Roman Wilson really developed in his final year at Michigan. He became the go-to receiver and was super efficient with 12 of his 48 catches converted for touchdowns. It’s no surprise playing under Jim Harbaugh, but Wilson prides himself on toughness and is a very good blocker for a receiver. He has great body control and can extend to snatch the ball on contested or jump balls. Wilson played more out wide this year at 35% of his snaps which shows more versatility in his game.

Roman Wilson is quick in and out of breaks and has the speed to separate especially on short and intermediate routes. Wilson is lethal on timing routes and is excellent on crossing routes. Even with his speed, Wilson was not a deep threat consistently, so that is something I want to see him develop in the NFL. He has a quick release but against physical press coverage he can still improve. Wilson will most likely be strictly a slot receiver but could settle into a good WR3 right away. – Brandon Haye
