Film Notes and Highlights
Spencer Rattler has rebuilt his draft stock since flaming out at Oklahoma. I will preface his analysis by saying his receivers did have quite a few easy drops that did not help him out. At times, Rattler looked like a first round pick. Other times he looked like he will be a career backup. He has great mobility to avoid pressure and make elite throws on the run. But then other times does not feel pressure or back pedals too much and tries to make hero ball type throws.
Rattler has the arm to make every NFL throw, and varies his velocity to allow for the receivers to get a catchable pass. He needs to get more consistent in his decision making and accuracy. At times he completes passes but does not put the ball in a place for receivers to maximize yards after the catch. I do think under the right coaching, Rattler could eventual be a starter and is worth a pick in the third round of the NFL Draft. -Brandon Haye
