Taulia Tagovailoa transferred from Alabama to Maryland and started right away. For three full seasons, he was consistent but did not improve much. For those three years, he had over 3,000 yards, a 66-69% completion rate, and around a 2.3 TD/INT ratio. There are definite signs of excellent play. However there was plenty of inconsistency, especially against better teams. He has happy feet and sometimes leaves the pocket too fast. The reason for this is he is very mobile and can extend plays.
Taulia Tagovailoa is very good at throwing on the run but that causes some bad habits at times. He does have good touch on throws but it seems he has to use his whole body on deep throws because of limits with his arm strength. There is also a tendency for him to play “Hero” ball and just throw it up and hope for the best. The decision-making is inconsistent and after three years as a starter, I wonder if that can be corrected. – Brandon Haye
