Theo Johnson surprised me with how good of a blocker he was. He has great technique and uses full extensions of his arms to stop defenders from spinning off of him. Another aspect I liked was just how physical and nasty he was against blitzers. He has a nasty streak much like an offensive lineman and would look to hit the defender as hard as possible. However, the receiving aspect did disappoint me.
Theo Johnson is good finding spots in the zone and has good strong hands, but he is not a great route runner. He did not show the explosion I would expect from a player with his athleticism. Johnson is the best blocking tight end in the class in my opinion, and that should allow him to get on the field. I think with coaching he could develop the receiving part of his game. – Brandon Haye
