Fantasy Football: Biggest QB Buys in 2021

The QB position has slowly become one of the deepest positions in the game. Whether you play 1QB dynasty leagues or superflex dynasty leagues, these are the Top-3 QB buys in fantasy football this offseason.

1. Lamar Jackson BAL

Where do you I begin with the former MVP? This guy was ragged on for being a below-average passer and yet was still a Top-10 quarterback in fantasy football. People were rushing to sell Lamar this past season, and were proclaiming it was a down year. If his down year is QB10, I’ll easily buy him at that price. Lamar Jackson has proved that no matter what his arm is doing, that his legs will provide a very high floor. While not only providing a safe rushing floor, he still offers a relatively high ceiling.

I also believe the Ravens bring in a true #1 wide receiver in the off-season. Marquise Brown hasn’t been Tyreek Hill, which it seemed Harbaugh and company were expecting him to be. Lamar isn’t an ‘outside the numbers’ kind of QB. He keeps things tight and tucked in close, showing us that he loves targeting his TEs. Lamar needs a guy who can control the deep half of the field, a receiver who can stretch the field while also being dominate on the inside.

J.K. Dobbins also showed us he’s a legitimate threat, and even if Gus Edwards were to walk, this rushing offense can be the best in the NFL again. I want Lamar on every team of mine for 2021, and he’s my #1 biggest buy of the offseason for fantasy football.

2. Matthew Stafford LAR

My oh my, Matthew Stafford is going to love LA! And as a fantasy football player I absolutely love Stafford in LA. Matt Stafford has been one of the most underrated QBs of this generation, and he now heads to an offense that was once the best in football no more than 2 years ago.

We know what Sean McVay can do with an incompetent QB, but we’ve never seen what he can do with elite arm talent. With Stafford, he has every single weapon to not only be a top 12 QB, but he has pieces to win a championship.

Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods have been one of the most consistent wide receiver tandems in football. With those two wide receivers, and an arm talent like Matt Stafford’s, there is no predicting the ceiling of any of these offensive pieces.

Cam Akers will also feast in LA. While Matt Stafford hasn’t ever had a RB put up RB1 numbers, he’s also never had a talent like Akers. He’s also never had a head coach as wise and quick as McVay. Stafford is a great buy for 2021, and is a huge riser in my February Dynasty Rankings, which will be coming on February 7th.

3. Daniel Jones NYG

Daniel Jones was drafted #6 overall, and at the time people were already questioning the move by GM Dave Gettleman. He showed signs of promise at Duke, but had his struggles with decision making and accuracy.

Daniel had to silence the critics just seconds after being drafted, and had virtually no support from the nation as the #6 pick. He walked into a NYG organization that had saw one playoff game in the past 9 years. The odds were stacked against him from the get go.

In his rookie year, he he threw over 20 passing TDs and had a 2/1 TD/INT ratio. He showed signs of improvement while being in a fairly stagnant offense besides from Saquon Barkley (who played 13 games). They lacked major o-line pieces and a WR core that couldn’t stay healthy.

Fast forward to the 2020 season, and he’s now back with the same WR core (who again couldn’t stay on the field), while also losing their generational RB to a season ending injury. Add the team bringing in a new HC/OC, no offseason, and this man was set up to fail in 2020.

Adding Saquon and hopefully an alpha WR, this Giants offense could see a massive boost, including Daniel Jones. Jones has had his misfortunes, and will need a huge year 3 to really convince people.

I’m in on Daniel Jones before he proves everyone wrong. I think they add that much needed WR, and we see him really take that next step. Daniel Jones is a must buy in fantasy football dynasty formats.
