Devy Spotlight: Tetairoa McMillan

Sophomore wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is under the microscope in this week’s Devy Spotlight.

Legendary Michigan head coach Bo Schembechler was known for his colorful quotes and catch phrases. One of which was “nothing good ever happens after midnight“. If you’re a fan of PAC-12 football, you have to strongly disagree with coach on this one.

With it’s reputation for high scoring affairs, PAC-12 “After Dark” is can’t miss football for college football fans. Especially for college fantasy football and Devy degenerates.

The PAC-12 is home to some of the most entertaining players in all of college football. Let me introduce you to one of those players that is still flying under the radar, for the time being. Tetairoa “Tet” McMillan is a Sophomore wide receiver for the University of Arizona.

Listed at 6’5″ 205lbs, McMillan possesses rare physical traits for a player his size. A three sport athlete at Servite High-school in California, his athleticism pops of the screen.

McMillian is an incredibly fluid mover for his size. Tet also has tremendous ball skills, and has a knack for making difficult catches appear routine.

After a standout Freshman season that saw McMillan total 39 receptions for 702 yards and 8 touchdowns across 12 games, his Sophomore season has been even more impressive.

Tet has totalled 17 receptions, 315 yards, and 3 touchdowns over the first three games for the Wildcats. That’s a 68 reception, 1,260 yard, 12 touchdown pace.

Diving into the analytics, Tetairoa McMillan stacks up quite impressively alongside Ohio State stars Marvin Harrison Jr and Emeka Egbuka. Widely regarded as the top receiver prospects for the 2024 NFL Draft.

On top of his rare ball skills, McMillan also shows good speed and an ability to create yards after the catch and is dangerous in the open field.

He’s also shown versatility by lining up both out wide (76%) and in the slot (24%). McMillan has a 15.7 yard average depth of target, combined with 5.3 yards after catch over his career, per PFF.

With his size, speed, versatility and ability to both win vertically and after the catch, McMillan has proved to be a match up nightmare for opposing defenses.

He only has 15 games under his belt at the collegiate level. McMillan is  just scratching the surface of what his potential ceiling could be as a player. A rare combination of size, skills, and physical traits, Tet is a chess piece type of player that every offensive co-ordinator dreams of.

With his continued ascension amongst the top wide receivers in college football, Tetairoa McMillan is on his way to becoming a key part of your fantasy football rosters.

Make no mistake about it, good things do indeed happen after midnight!
