Fantasy Football 2022: D/ST Streams Week 10

fantasy football dynasty mock nfl draft

Have you ever had one of those weeks where it feels like everything goes the wrong way? That’s how my past 10 days have been. Back-to-back busy weeks at work, traveled to visit family over the weekend, forgot my laptop at home on said weekend trip, and then started this week with getting sick and blowing out a tire on my car. All in all, I am glad it’s football time! That said, let’s take a look at how my Week 8 fantasy football picks performed.

  • New York Jets: 10 pts – HIT
  • Washington Commanders: 7 pts – HIT
  • Carolina Panthers: 2 pts  – BUST
  • Week 8:  2 Hits –  1 Bust
  • Season: 15 Hits – 10 Busts

The shoot out in Carolina in Week 8 was one that did not favor anyone who played the Panthers D/ST. Their 2 interceptions and 2 sacks were nice, but allowing 31 points wasn’t great. The Commanders played well against the first timer Sam Ehlinger in a close game. The Commanders won on a last minute drive for the final score of 17-16. Heartbreaking for a Colts fan like me.

The only way it could get worse is if they fired their head coach and not the general manager; and hired a legendary offensive lineman to be the new interim HC. Oh wait… That is exactly what happened. The Colts get to face off against a struggling Raiders on Sunday. We’ll see how I feel about them come Sunday around 4:30pm. Until then, let’s look at the picks for Week 10!

New York Giants – 44.8%

The Giants get a nice matchup against the Texans this week. It’s a great time to come back from their Bye week. The bad news is they will  be without young Safety Xavier McKinney and his cool hair. The Giants D/ST is averaging 1 fumble recovery and 2 sacks against their opponents. Their greatest asset is their ability to stop their opponents from scoring. The only games they allowed over 20 points were in their two losses. Now, the Giants D/ST has only hit for us in fantasy three out of the eight times. This is a risky play considering their NFL defense is better than their fantasy D/ST.

Arizona Cardinals – 27.8%

The Cardinals are an interesting team. They are the exact opposite of the Giants. Not that great on defense in the NFL, but good for fantasy football. For fantasy, they have six games where they hit, including three in the double digits. The Rams have been stagnant on offense. They have no run game and the only player that Matt Stafford likes to throw to is Cooper Kupp. With Kupp nursing a foot injury, Stafford may need to look elsewhere if he can. Still, when the play breaks down, he forces the ball to Kupp. If Kupp isn’t fully healthy, this will be good news for the Cardinals D/ST.

Minnesota Vikings – 30.6%

This play is on one condition and one condition only: That Josh Allen doesn’t play. If Allen plays, completely ignore this play! However, if Allen is out this week with his UCL sprain, the Vikings will put up a major effort to win. The Vikings are averaging 1 interception, a fumble recovery, and 3 sacks per game with three games having with 4+ sacks. They are playing incredibly well on defense and offense recently. They are trying their hardest to win every game they can while also looking for a NFC North title.

While this was a shorter article, I do believe in these picks (If Allen misses) for this week. They’re good chances of strong defensive performances for fantasy football. Good luck this week! As always, may the Streams flow your way.
