Fantasy Football 2023: Start or Sit Week 15

Welcome to the fantasy football playoffs – well, if you’re still around to compete. And if you are, luckily our crew here at The League Winners will be helping with your tough start and sit options.

Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 15 – Start

Brandin Cooks, WR – Dallas Cowboys at Buffalo Bills (Sheldon Hand)

After a quiet start, Brandin Cooks has turned it around in the second half. He has become a reliable option in fantasy football and that should continue in a potential shootout in Week 15 against the Bills. Buffalo isn’t a matchup to avoid, so get Cooks into your lineup. The Cowboys offence is clicking and I would trust him more than Terry McLaruin or Calvin Ridley this week.

Matthew Stafford, QB – Los Angeles Rams vs Washington Commanders (Harry Prskalo)

Matthew Stafford has been on a tear recently, throwing for 10 touchdowns the past three games. This week he gets to go against a Commanders defense that is allowing the 4th most passing yards and the most passing touchdowns in the league. Start Stafford with confidence this week.

Jahmyr Gibbs, RB – Detroit Lions vs Denver Broncos (Brandon Haye)

Jahmyr Gibbs has been getting the carries – even with David Montgomery back – and has over 50 yds in the last four games. The Broncos give up the most fantasy points to running backs. I think both Montgomery and Gibbs will have big days.

Curtis Samuel, WR – Washington Commanders at Los Angeles Rams (Erika Brown)

Curtis Samuel has been a middle of the pack kind of guy this year. He’s had a couple of boom games, but with plenty of bust performances as well. This week the Commanders face a Rams defense that has given up more than 2,000 yards to wide receivers this year. With Sameul’s targets the last two weeks before the bye week, he looks to have a good game this week.

Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 15 – Sit

Tua Tagovailoa, QB – Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets (Sheldon Hand)

We have seen this show before and it wasn’t pretty. Tua Tagovailoa threw two picks and struggled to move the ball against the Jets the last time these two played. This time around his WR1 is dealing with an injury. It is tough to sit a guy like Tua in the fantasy playoffs, but he struggles in tough matchups. There are a few streaming options with good matchups, however, especially Joe Flacco.

Adam Thielen, WR – Carolina Panthers vs Atlanta Falcons (Harry Prskalo)

The Adam Thielen WR1 fantasy football season was quick and has been over with. We have not seen a big game out of him since Week 6. That is also the last time he finished inside the Top-20 at the position. With a struggling Bryce Young, and a touch matchup against the Falcons, Thielen should be on your bench this week.

George Kittle, TE – San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals (Brandon Haye)

There are just too many playmakers on the 49ers. On top of that, the Arizona Cardinals give up the 7th least amount of fantasy points to tight ends. This may get out of hand, and passing targets to Kittle may be low in this game

Kenneth Walker, RB – Seattle Seahawks vs Philadelphia Eagles (Erika Brown)

The Seahawks running backs have a tough game this week, facing one of the top defenses in the Philadelphia Eagles. This defense has averaged only 3.9 yards per attempt, and four total touchdowns. While Kenneth Walker has looked like the clear RB1 on the team, he is still recovering from injury. Against the San Francisco 49ers, he averaged only 2.6 yards per attempt. Look for the Eagles to shut down the run game and sit Walker this week.
