Fantasy Football 2023: Start or Sit Week 6

The League Winners, Fantasy Football, Start Sit Week 6

Whether you are 5-0 or 0-5, the season is still young! Week 6 is upon us; and between bye weeks and injuries, plenty will have you second-guessing lineup decisions. Don’t fret, The League Winners are here to lend a hand with those Start or Sit decisions for Week 6!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 6 – Start

Matthew Stafford, QB – Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals (Sheldon Hand)

No one expected the Rams to be competitive this year, but Matthew Stafford has looked good! Stafford has a cupcake matchup against the Cardinals this week. They are allowing the third-most points to fantasy QBs at 21.8 points per game. With Cooper Kupp back in the lineup and Puka Nacua doing his thing, Stafford should be able to compete for the top spot this week. I’d be starting him over Trevor Lawrence and Lamar Jackson this week

Gabe Davis, WR – Buffalo Bills vs. New York Giants (Harry Prskalo)

Gabe Davis has been a TD machine this season. Until we see different, he should in fantasy football lineups. Davis is currently the WR14 and has a nice matchup against the Giants. I expect the Bills to score a lot of points, and that will lead to lots of opportunities for Davis to score some points. Start Davis with confidence.

Alexander Mattison, RB – Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears (Erika Brown)

To say the Vikings are a hot mess would be an understatement. But they could right the ship this week against the Chicago Bears. The Bears have been horrible on defense, and are ranked 31st against running backs. Alexander Mattison has a chance for a solid performance in Week 6. While a touchdown has eluded him thus far this season, he has run well, averaging 4.3 yards per carry. I can see this game going in favor of the Vikings and a big fantasy day for Mattison.

Zay Flowers, WR – Baltimore Ravens vs. Tennessee Titans (Mikey Cannavo)

Zay Flowers has been a solid PPR flex option so far this year, and the matchup against Tennessee proves to be another startable week. The Titans are giving up the fourth most yards per pass attempt at 8.08. They have a stout run defense, so the Ravens are going to have to look outside of Lamar Jackson’s legs to get the ball moving. Flowers has been the number one target so far this year and I don’t expect anything to change this week.

Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 6 – Sit

Rachaad White, RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions (Sheldon Hand)

If you have a pivot option, I would consider sitting Rachaad White this week. The Lions are stingy against fantasy running backs this year, only allowing 10.9 points per game to the position. Kenneth Walker had a two TD performance back in Week 2 (on only 43 rushing yards) but since then the door has been shut! Patrick Mahomes actually has the most rushing yards (45) against this defense and that was back in Week 1. I would start Miles Sanders or Chuba Hubbard over White this week. I would also look at D’Onta Foreman or Roschon Johnson (if healthy).

Derrick Henry, RB – Tennessee Titans vs Baltimore Ravens (Harry Prskalo)

Dameon Pierce, RB – Houston Texans vs New Orleans Saints (Erika Brown)

Dameon Pierce is currently the RB25 on the season, but his production hasn’t been consistent. He only has one touchdown on the season, and I don’t expect much from him this week against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are ranked 4th against running backs so far on the season, and haven’t allowed a TD at the position all year. The game feels evenly matched between the two teams, but I expect Houston to throw the ball more, especially with how well CJ Stroud is playing. Sit Pierce this week to err on the side of caution.

Chris Olave, WR – New Orleans Saints vs. Houston Texans (Mikey Cannavo)

Ever since Derek Carr sustained a shoulder injury two weeks ago, the New Orleans Saints passing offense has deteriorated. Chris Olave has been no excoriation to this. He was bailed out by a touchdown last week, but his targets have been cut in half since Carr’s injury. His air yards before the catch, per reception, the last two weeks have been -3.0 and 5.5. Comparing that to his 9.0 average before Week 4, and something is definitely wrong right now. I’m sitting Olave if I have other options.
