College football season is inching ever so close. In just a little over a week, we will have actual football being played that counts. To get you primed for the college football season I wanted to take a look at a few players at the major skill positions poised for big seasons that should be considered buys in fantasy football devy leagues.
In devy, we do a lot of projecting with players. We are trying to project who will or will not have a shot at NFL relevancy; since that equals fantasy football relevancy to us in the dynasty community.
Here are a few players who I currently have as buys in devy. I will also touch on a few players I am projecting to have big seasons and see an uptick in their devy value.
Quarterback
Carson Strong QB Nevada
Carson Strong leads a loaded Nevada team in 2021. With weapons like TE Cole Turner and WR Romeo Dubbs, Strong has a chance to become a top three quarterback in the 2022 class.
Could be QB1 in the 2022 class when it’s all said and done. Love me some Carson Strong!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/28XhPxSPSo

Strong possesses NFL arm strength along with solid football IQ intangibles. He’s not the most mobile quarterback, but he exhibits the ability to manipulate the pocket well and is more mobile than his statistics suggest.
Carson Strong is currently ranked as the fantasy football QB7 overall in devy for me. He’s my QB3 for the 2022 draft-eligible class. There’s a real chance Strong gets first round draft capital next year in the NFL draft if he can do it again in 2021. There’s going to be a lot of fun Saturday nights on the west coast this year.
Kyle McCord QB Ohio State
Let’s go a little further down the road here with Kyle McCord, a Freshman in the 2024 class. McCord’s path to the starting job at Ohio State has hit a few roadblocks. Highly touted CJ Stroud has been McCord’s primary battle in camp, but the surprise arrival of phenom Quinn Ewers makes the path to being a starter even more muddy for McCord.
That muddiness may lead to opportunity. McCord and Stroud are in a pretty exciting camp battle this summer. While it seems probable that Stroud gets the nod, McCord certainly isn’t making it easy on him. With the crowded quarterback room, there is the possibility for McCord to transfer out. If a transfer happens, it only boosts his stock.
McCord isn’t the flashiest quarterback out there, but he’s sound in many facets of the game. He shows poise in the pocket and is an accurate distributor of the football.

Kyle McCord is my QB15 in fantasy football devy. I am particularly high on him. Keep a close eye on the quarterback situation in Columbus this season.
Running Back
Tyler Allgeier RB BYU
We move back out west to check in on BYU Redshirt Junior running back, Tyler Allgeier. Allgeier has NFL size with his 5’11, 220 pound sturdy frame. He broke out onto the scene last year as a Redshirt Sophomore. Allgeier ran for 1,130 yards and added 13 touchdowns. He also compiled 14 receptions for 174 yards through the air.
BYU RB Tyler Allgeier is the subject of my next #Devy Flag Plant video. Figured I share a few clips I'll be using for the film study segment.
He reportedly ran a 4.39 forty last fall. Shows up on the film. Full video out by the weekend. Enjoy! pic.twitter.com/WVmVP68CPR

If Allgeier can build on his 2020 performance, he has the chance to gain steam in NFL draft circles. Allgeier is currently my devy RB23 overall and RB8 for the 2022 class. With the departure of Zach Wilson to the pros, BYU may look to lean on him more in 2021.
Rachaad White RB Arizona State
Going to go a little deeper here with Rachaad White out of Arizona State. White is in a highly talented backfield alongside Deamonte Trayanum and Daniyel Ngata. Don’t let that deter you of the upside from the 6’2, 195 pound Redshirt Senior.
Rachaad White slashes his way to a 55-yard touchdown after catching the pass out of the backfield.

White was a playmaker for the Sun Devils in 2020. He put up some eye-popping numbers in limited action. He ran for 420 yards and five touchdowns at a 10 yards per carry clip. White also added eight receptions for 151 yards and a touchdown as a receiver.
It’s a crowded backfield in Arizona, but Rachaad White has legit NFL talent. Sometimes these junior college prospects slip through the cracks. Rachaad White is currently my RB36 overall in devy, and he’s my RB15 for the 2022 class. White certainly is more of a projection at this point, but I love the talent.
Wide Receiver
Jahan Dotson WR Penn State
If you are looking for an alpha-size wide receiver, you came to the wrong place. If you are looking for a good football player, you came to the right place.
The NFL is moving more towards speed, and focusing less on size at the wide receiver position. They are seeking players who are fast and make plays. That’s just what 5’11 182 senior widout Jahan Dotson does.

After emerging as a Sophomore, Dotson broke free in his Junior season; collecting 52 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns in just nine games played. Dotson is an explosive player. Career to date at Penn State, he is averaging 17.1 yards per reception.
Look for big things to come in 2021 for Dotson. He and Parker Washington make up a nice one-two punch for the Nittany Lions. Dotson is currently my WR22 in fantasy football devy overall and my WR10 for the 2022 class. A big senior season could catapult Dotson even higher.
Agiye Hall WR Alabama
Surprise, surprise; Alabama has more weapons on the way. The Crimson Tide has the luxury of quickly reloading at the skill positions. At wide receiver, it’s thanks in large part to incoming Freshman phenom, Agiye Hall.
At 6’3, 190 pounds, Hall has the size to turn into an absolute problem for SEC defenses. As he continues to grow into his frame, that problem will only get larger. The true freshman turned heads at Alabama’s annual A-Day spring football game.
Next WR up for Alabama?
Agiye Hall 🔥

The secret is now out with Agiye Hall. He’s quickly becoming one of the more expensive assets in devy. Despite that, I still think it’s a great time to buy as the price will only go higher. Hall is already my WR7 overall in devy and ranked inside the top 25. Hall has the chance to be special.
