Fantasy Football 2021: D/ST Streams Week 14

fantasy football - defense, D/ST Streams Week 8, The League Winners

It’s Week 14, the time where some fantasy football teams have to face ‘win-and-you’re-in’ situations. A time where some have just accepted they have no chance of making the playoffs, but have the chance of stopping a league mate from making the playoffs. The time where players like Dalvin Cook put up 35 fantasy points against you in a PPR league where the winner makes the playoffs this year and you’re the defending champ from last year. That last one may just be me. However, if there’s one thing that could help, it’s a solid D/ST score. Last week’s article including my recap of my previous picks where I got all 4 picks successfully. This week, something similar happened.

  • Vikings: 5pts – SUCCESS
  • Dolphins: 10pts – SUCCESS
  • Honorable Mention Colts: 16pts – SUCCESS
  • Eagles: 6pts – SUCCESS
  • Week 13: 4 Successes – 0 Busts
  • Overall: 35 Successes – 19 Busts

Two back-to-back perfect weeks gives me a boost of confidence. In my first year as a fantasy football content creator, having my weekly streamer suggestions start off with a 65% accuracy is encouraging. In this field, I know being right more than you are wrong is tricky. I am thankful to all of you who have been reading my articles. I do not take it lightly, and it encourages me to continue to better myself and my thought process behind my streamer picks. That being said, let’s look at my picks for Week 14.

Number 3: Kansas City Chiefs 24.3%

I, for one, was not confident in the Chiefs going into this season. The first couple of weeks only persuaded me that maybe the Chiefs were really going to bust this year. However, it seems like they have gotten it together recently.

When it comes to their defense and special teams, they have stepped up quite a bit since Week 8’s matchup against the Giants. Since their 27-3 loss to the Titans in Week 7, the Chiefs have let up a total of five (5) touchdowns to opponents. Both the Giants and Raiders scored twice on the Chiefs in that time. Between the Cowboys, Broncos, and Packers, the chiefs have allowed one touchdown and six (6) field goals. The Raiders will be without both Darren Waller and Kenyan Drake in this matchup in Kansas City. This is encouraging for the Chiefs as a fantasy football D/ST streamer this week.

Number 2: Denver Broncos 62.5%

Remember when that one writer for the League Winners suggested the Vikings as a stream for last week because the Lions were in full on tank? Remember how the Lions won? Gosh, did I screw up on the whole “Tank Job” call.

However, the Lions will more than likely be without D’Andre Swift, T.J. Hockenson, and Jamaal Williams. Being without your top two running backs and your top tight end makes it easier for the opponent to focus in on the wide receivers who are already banged up and less the elite receivers at this point in their careers.

The Broncos D/ST have also been on a roll. with four of their last five matchups being ‘Sucesses’. If they are available, I would recommend them as a fantasy football stream over D/STs like the Bills, Buccaneers, Cardinals, or Rams this week.

Honorable Mention: Dallas Cowboys (64.0%)

The Cowboys’ D/ST is averaging 7.9 fantasy points per matchup this season. That includes four matchups with double digit fantasy points. Against a team like Washington, I think this would be a good matchup to play them. They are also a good stash-and-hold team for the fantasy football playoffs.

Number 1: Tennessee Titans 44.7%

As a Colts fan, I struggle to support the Titans or recommend them. As a fantasy football player, the Titans are a great stream this week – playing their division rival in the Jaguars.

This year, the Titans lost their elite running back in Derrick Henry, lost the young hot shot wide receiver in A.J. Brown, and have one of the best wide receivers of all time in Julio Jones having only played in half of their matchups. The Titans have taken every struggle and injury and used it as a driving force to excel their team into a top seeded team in the AFC.

The Jaguars running back James Robinson did not participate in the team’s practice on Thursday due to his knee injury – though he was a full participant on Friday. On top of that, he was benched last week during the game for a lost fumble that resulted in Trevor Lawrence questioning the coaching staff. The Titans are one of the best fantasy football D/STs to play this week in my eyes.

Good luck this week! Good luck going into the fantasy football playoffs! As always, may the streams flow your way!
