The League Winners are getting defensive. In addition to our Weekly Start or Sit column found here, we are now offering a weekly IDP Sit or Start column for all you IDP fans out there. So without further delay, let’s take a look at IDP Sit or Start Week 6.
Reddick has had at least two tackles and one sack in each of his past two games despite playing less than half the defensive snaps. In Week 6 he gets a Jets offense that is led by Zach Wilson and should make for multiple sack opportunities.
Davenport has totaled four tackles and a sack in back-to-back games and has seen his snap share climb to a season-high. He is slowly recovering from an ankle injury and looks to be hitting his stride just in time to help a struggling Vikings squad.
Ngakoue has had multiple tackles in every game he has played in this season and has recorded two sacks on the year. As he continues to pile up sacks, his IDP value will continue to rise. Look for him to be all over Trevor Lawrence in a potential revenge game in Week 6.
Simmons has seen his snap share nearly tripled since the start of the season and has produced at an elite level as a result. He recorded four tackles in back-to-back games before piling up nine last week against Miami. He is currently second on the Giants in tackles and will only see his value rise as his playing time increases.
Jackson got off to a slow start in 2023 before exploding in Week 3 for eight tackles. He followed that up with an eight-tackle and ten-tackle performance. Jackson is off to a solid start and has sneaky value in IDP leagues.
Joseph was off to a solid start this season recording 12 tackles through the first two games of the season before missing two games with a hip injury. He returned in Week 5 to total five tackles on what is proving to be a solid Detroit defense. The Buccaneers, quarterbacked by Baker Mayfield, should give him many chances to produce.
Dodson lost his starting job to start the season, but Week 5 saw him record a season-high in snaps at 55%. He turned that usage into five tackles and a fumble recovery and has surely earned more playing time. Look for Dodson to pile up points against a terrible Giants offense and offensive line.
To’oTo’O has been the Texans’ leader tackler for much of the season. After getting off to a slow start in Week 1, he has totaled seven or more tackles in four straight games. He saw a season-high 75% snap share in Week 5 and turned that into a season-high 12 tackles. The rookie out of Alabama is proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the Texan’s defense.
Spillane recorded nine tackles and two interceptions in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers. He has also recorded five or more tackles in every game this season and looks to be a bonafide star in the Raiders defense.
Mack nearly broke the single-game sack record in Week 4 against the Raiders, but before that game, he had little to no production. The Cowboys have a better offensive line than the Raiders do, and Mack may not have many opportunities to replicate his prior performance.
Ogbah’s season-high in tackles has topped out at three. He has contributed 2.5 sacks and one interception, but outside of the rare turnover he comes up with he offers little value in IDP leagues.
Uche has recorded two sacks on the year but has not broken the three tackles mark this season. The Patriots are off to one of the worst starts in franchise history and if he and the rest of this struggling defense don’t step up he’s going to hold no fantasy value.
Asamoah recorded three tackles in the first two games but has since seen his role on the defensive side of the ball evaporate completely. At this point in the season, he has been relegated to nothing more than an occasional special teams player. He is easily droppable until he earns his role back.
Chinn has alternated between games of looking like a bonafide stud defender and games of being nearly invisible. In Week 4 he recorded six tackles and one sack, but followed that up with only two tackles in a disappointing Week 5. Sit Chinn until he can find his game and produce at a consistent level.
Masterson has been nearly useless in IDP leagues despite being rostered in many. He has totaled only three tackles through the first five games of the season and has seen his snap share hover in the single digits. He has been added in many IDP leagues due to injuries on the defensive side of the ball for Las Vegas, but he holds essentially no value.
Davis has produced at a modest level when he has been in the lineup but the problem is that he is often not in the lineup. He missed Week 2 and Week 3 with a toe injury and appeared severely hampered by the injury when he returned in Week 5. There will be better days ahead for Davis when he is once again healthy.
Booth is my second highly-touted Vikings defender to be relegated to special teams duty. The disappointing production the Vikings have been receiving from these young players could be the reason their defense has been so bad this season.
Murphy hasn’t seen a snap share of less than 60% this season, but much like the rest of the Minnesota defense, it has led to a disappointing season. His ten-tackle outburst in week three led many to be optimistic about him, but he has three tackles or less in three of the past four games.
