NFL Fantasy Football Week 7 IDP Sit & Start, The League Winners

The League Winners are getting defensive. In addition to our weekly fantasy football Start or Sit column found here, we are now offering a weekly IDP Sit or Start column for all you IDP fans out there. So without further delay, let’s take a look at IDP Sit or Start Week 7.

Fantasy Football IDP Start or Sit Week 7 – Start

Linebackers

Nick Bolton – Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Bolton missed three games due to an ankle injury but was solid in his return to the Kansas City lineup against Denver. He totaled four tackles and chipped in interceptions. Modest production for sure, but it was a positive sign that he was fully healthy. In his two previous games this season, he recorded more than seven tackles in both games.

Bobby Okereke – New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders

Okereke has totaled ten or more tackles in three straight games and eight or more tackles in five straight games. It was clear to anyone who watched the Giant’s Sunday Night Football game against the Buffalo Bills that Okereke was the motor that drove the Giant’s defensive engine. In addition, he has added two forced fumbles and one interception.

Ja’Whaun Bentley – New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills

Bentley recorded only four tackles in Week 6 after battling a lingering injury all week. He has been off the injury report since midway through Week 6 and appears to finally be fully healthy. He has had two games this season with nine or more tackles, showing a potential to produce at an elite level in fantasy football IDP leagues.

Defensive Linemen

Christian Wilkins – Miami Dolphins vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Wilkins was absolutely dominant in Week 6 despite only recording five tackles in the contest. After a brief lull in production, he has since seen his playing time spike again and the fantasy production hasn’t been far behind. He has an elite upside if his snap rate continues to increase. He’s a potentially huge upward riser in fantasy football IDP leagues.

Nick Bonitto – Denver Broncos vs. Green Bay Packers

Bonitto’s tackle totals have been nothing to write home about. His season high is six tackles. It’s his sack numbers that have been on fire. With 5.5 sacks on the season, he gives you the massive potential to go with modest tackle production. This is a potential defensive force to reckon with.

Danielle Hunter – Minnesota Vikings vs, San Francisco 49ers

Hunter has recorded three games with seven or more tackles after hitting that number in Week 6. He has also recorded a whopping eight sacks through the first six games. To make this situation even better, he also has a forced fumble on his stat line. Hunter is one of the game’s best and is a weekly must-start.

Defensive Backs

Jason Pinnock – New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders

Pinnock has a safe floor to his fantasy football production as he has recorded at least four tackles in every game. The true appeal here is his upside. He has had two huge blowup games in six appearances. One in Week 2 that saw him post 13 tackles for 26 fantasy points. The other was in Week 5 where he totaled four tackles, a forced fumble, an interception and a touchdown. A day good for 38 fantasy points.

Rayshawn Jenkins – Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints

Jenkins was solid in Week 6, hitting a season-high in tackles, and seeing a season-high snap share. He’s had only one game of less than five tackles and has been a model of consistency. Jenkins doesn’t have the upside of Pinnock, but he is far steadier.

Reed Blankenship – Philadelphia Eagles vs. Miami Dolphins

Blankenship has recorded seven or more tackles in every game this season except for one. He has also totaled more than nine fantasy points in every game. He’s chipped in only one turnover, but his tackle numbers make him a weekly start.

IDP Start or Sit Week 6 – Sit

Linebackers

Jabrill Peppers – New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills

Peppers has produced stabile tackle numbers this season, but as of late, he has battled injury. It seems to be a daily occurrence that sees him going on and off the injury report. This Patriots team is a total mess and I’m avoiding basically every player on both sides of the ball.

Bud Dupree – Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Dupree appears to be a part-time player in Atlanta. His season high in tackles was five in Week 4 and he has recorded three or fewer tackles in four of his other five games. He simply doesn’t have the upside he once had and is a desperation play and nothing more.

Von Miller – Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots

Miller has recently returned from a knee injury, but the injury has sapped any explosiveness he had left. He’s had one tackle in two games this season and is operating as a backup at this point in his career. The big name of Miller will inevitably bait some fantasy football managers into playing him, but his time for fantasy has come and gone.

Defensive Linemen

Jordan Davis – Philadelphia Eagles vs. Miami Dolphins

Davis started the season strong recording six tackles, 0.5 sacks and one forced fumble in Week 1. Since then, he hasn’t topped the three-tackle mark in any game and has added only one additional sack. He’s also battled an ankle injury that has caused his playing time to decrease and is not a worthwhile starter at this time.

Dayo Odeyingbo – Indianapolis Colts vs. Cleveland Browns

Odeyingbo had a seven-tackle explosion in Week 4, but he has seven combined tackles in every other game this season. That Week 4 game saw him chip in 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble, making that week his only usable one for fantasy football this season.

Romeo Okwara – Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens

Okwara showed potential early in his career but has lost significant playing time to several rookies who have stepped up for the Lions. He has a total of four tackles this season and is one missed tackle away from finding himself on the healthy inactive list.

Defensive Backs

Kyle Hamilton – Baltimore Ravens vs. Detroit Lions

Hamilton peaked early this season with a nine-tackle, three-sack game in week 3 that saw him add in a forced fumble. In the three games since he has totaled only nine tackles and has seen his playing time fall off a cliff. Hamilton is edging towards droppable territory.

Tyrann Mathieu – New Orleans Saints vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Mathieu has had one fantasy-relevant game this season. That game came in Week 5, where he returned an interception for a touchdown. With the exception of that pick-six, he has been unusable for fantasy since he arrived in New Orleans. Avoiding him again this week.

Jessie Bates – Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Buccaneers

Bates started off solidly but has since seen his playing time and production begin to tail off. The past two weeks have seen him record two tackles and five tackles with no turnovers. Bates is just not producing at a level that makes him start-worthy in Week 7.
