Take a bow LeagueWinners. We have officially made it to week ten of the fantasy football schedule. It sure has been a grind weekly with all of the injuries and bye weeks lately. Our staff is back to assist you with any week ten lineup decisions you are facing.
Let’s get to it!
Start
Devin Singletary, RB – Buffalo Bills (Joe O’Leary)
With Zack Moss only just clearing concussion protocol, Devin Singletary could be in line for a three-down workload. The Jets are 27th in the league giving up 133.2 yards rushing per game. It’s been even worse lately. In the last three games, New York has allowed 149.7
Singletary isn’t a high ceiling player, but if you are in a pinch with bye week issues, Devin Singletary is a nice plug and play option this week.
Tyler Conklin, TE – Minnesota Vikings (Matthew Morris)
We’re returning to the tight end in Week 10. Whether you’re streaming, looking for a bye week fill-in, or battling injury at the position, look no further than Tyler Conklin. Remember, targets and touchdowns are king at the tight end position. Conklin hasn’t scored a touchdown since week three. However, he averages over six targets in the last three games, producing a solid statline of 13 catches for 173 yards. The Chargers pass defense is stout, ranking third in the NFL. However, tight ends average 10.8 PPR points per game against them, making them the fifth-best matchup for the position in fantasy football. Given the matchup and recent target floor, Tyler Conklin belongs in lineups in Week 10.
Marvin Jones, WR – Jacksonville Jaguars (Keith James)
Marvin the Martian has really cooled off since the beginning of the season. This week against a pass funnel defense in the Colts, Marvin Jones will be able to land in the top-20 at his position. The Colts have been hot on offense and will score at will against the Jags. The Jaguars will have to pass to keep up, and Jones has been Trevor Lawrence’s top target (21% share) over the season. Look for 70+ yards and a score out of Marv the Martian this week.
Tony Pollard, RB – Dallas Cowboys (Jeremy Shulman)
Tony Pollard is in a great spot to return value as a flex play this week, as his Cowboys take on the Atlanta Falcons at home. Even though it’s been a tough couple of weeks since the Week 7 bye, Pollard still boasts plus usage when Ezekiel Elliott is healthy, especially in the passing game.
Now, with Zeke ailing a bit and a likely shootout incoming, I like Pollard to see his normal load with the potential for mop-up duty late in this one. If Atlanta can manage to keep up with the Cowboys on offense, he could see even more snaps as the preferred pass-catcher in this backfield.
Dawson Knox, TE – Buffalo Bills (Thomas Christopher)
Dawson Knox is back in the lineup, and faces the New York Jets, who have been a sieve to tight ends this season. While the Jets are great at locking down wide receivers, Knox can find himself taking advantage of the Jets’ poor linebackers, and decimated safety group. If the Bills follow the Patriots gameplan for beating the Jets, Knox should have a huge day.
Sit
Antonio Gibson, RB – Washington Football Team (Joe O’Leary)
It’s been tough sledding for Antonio Gibson of late. Gibson has been held in single digits in fantasy football PPR scoring for three straight weeks. Gibson hasn’t surpassed 45 percent of the running back snaps in that stretch either.
In Week 10, the matchup is far from kind for Gibson. Tampa Bay is 2nd in the NFL allowing only 78 yards a game on the ground. Game script (WFT 9.5 point underdogs) could favor more usage for JD Mckissic. I’m looking for better options if I have Antonio Gibson this week.
Teddy Bridgewater, QB – Denver Broncos (Matthew Morris)
Teddy Bridgewater is currently the QB15 on the season, a solid QB2. However, fantasy football managers starting him on a weekly basis have found Bridgewater’s production to be more of a rollercoaster ride. In four games with 34 or more pass attempts, Bridgewater has finished with at least 22.5 fantasy points. In four games with under 34 pass attempts, Bridgewater has finished with 18.65 fantasy points or less. Week nine was the first game this season where Bridgewater threw under 34 passes and still finished with over 22.5 fantasy points, thanks to his first rushing touchdown.
The fact is that Bridgewater is a boom-or-bust option and facing an Eagles defense, allowing the 10th fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Look for the Broncos to go run-heavy, leaving little volume for Bridgewater to produce anything more than low end QB2 numbers.
Titan’s RB’s (Keith James)
What a cool story for Adrian Peterson. After the disastrous loss of Derrick Henry, the Titans rolled into Los Angeles and manhandled a super bowl contending Rams squad. AP found the end zone after not finding a team through eight weeks of his age 36 season. One of the greatest to ever do it is back, and he’s a great fit for the Titans while Henry’s recovering.
However, the Saints have supplanted the Bucs as the top rush defense in the NFL. This is a pass funnel game where Tannenhill, AJ Brown and Julio Jones should out-perform the running game. I am not starting any of AP, Jermemy McNichols, or D’onta Foreman. Don’t chase the cool AP story, it won’t end well for the Titans run game this week.
Michael Carter, RB – New York Jets (Jeremy Shulman)
Michael Carter has been a solid flex option of late, with RB2 appeal. I just can’t bring myself to fire him up against the Buffalo Bills, who have been the best against RBs in fantasy football this season. QB Mike White has utilized the check-down pass early and often, and Corey Davis could be back this week. It all sets up for a nice script for Carter in the passing game, and still I’m not testing that Bills D. Start Carter if you have to, but I’d find another flex option this week.
Russell Gage, WR – Atlanta Falcons (Thomas Christopher)
Russell Gage has been a boom or bust receiver throughout his career. Last week was one of his boom weeks. This week, even in a game that could be a high scoring affair against the Cowboys, I’m looking elsewhere for a WR. I’ve never been able to put my faith into Gage as a fantasy football asset, and I won’t start now until he shows otherwise; even with Calvin Ridley out.
