Fantasy Football: Start or Sit Week 3

We’re officially into Week 3 of fantasy football and boy, did a lot happen in Week 2. We saw some injuries to starters and there are a lot of pivot options available. The League Winners are back with you for the weekly helping of Start and Sit for Week 3! Each week we will be bringing you the best starts of the week and the players who should not see the light of day. Our contributors break it down for you. Without further to do, here are your Start or Sit options for Week 3.

Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 3 – Start

Nico Collins, WR – Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars (Harry Prskalo)

Nico Collins has been a beast so far. Stroud loves throwing the ball and so far this is his WR1. Seeing 9+ targets in back-to-back weeks, Collins will look to prove himself against a Jaguars defence that let Michael Pittman go for 8/97/1. Start Nico with confidence this week, especially after he just put up a stat line of 7/146/1.

Kendre Miller, RB – New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers (Mikey Cannavo)

The New Orleans Saints are coming into Week 3 with a light running back room. Tony Jones scored a couple of times last week, but Kendre Miller has been lurking in the background waiting for his opportunity. He is now fully healthy and ready to pounce on a bottom-three run defense in the Green Bay Packers. I believe this will be the start of a solid career for Kendre Miller.

Tyler Lockett, WR – Seattle Seahawks vs. Carolina Panthers (Erika Brown)

Tyler Lockett has been a solid option for as long as we can remember, even the opposite of DK Metcalf. While his Week 1 performance left a lot to be desired, he made up for it in Week 2, bringing in eight receptions for 59 yards and two touchdowns against a top defense. I expect Lockett to keep his week 2 pace with Carolina giving up over 550 yards over two games.

Jordan Addison, WR – Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Chargers (Sheldon Hand)

Through two weeks the Chargers are the worst team against WRs. Now a lot of that was because of Tyreek Hill going berserk in Week 1. However, in that game Waddle quietly had four catches for 78 yards; while Berrios and Cracraft combined for 82 receiving yards and a TD. The Vikings will need to keep pace with the Chargers, so I expect this to be a high-scoring game. Jordan Addison currently ranks as the WR34 on FantasyPros, that is is floor with no TD. I expect him to find the endzone for a third straight game and push for a top-20 finish.

Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 3 – Sit

James Conner, RB – Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys(Harry Prskalo)

James Connor has had a solid start in this Murray-less Cardinals offense. He is currently RB13 but has his toughest matchup yet, the Dallas Cowboys. If you haven’t watched the Cowboys this season, their defense is the one team you do not want to see your running back play. The Cardinals will be playing from behind most likely this entire game. Just sit Connor this week and you’ll be happy.

Tyler Allgeier, RB – Atlanta Falcons at Detroit Lions (Mikey Cannavo)

Going against a top-ten run defense in the Detroit Lions, Tyler Allgeier causes concern as to whether he will receive enough opportunities in what will likely be a negative game script. The Atlanta Falcons have proven to us that they want to run the ball, but when in a negative game script Desmond Ridder is ready to sling it if necessary. I’m staying off the Falcons RB2 this week.

Courtland Sutton, WR – Denver Broncos at Miami Dolphins (Erika Brown)

The Denver Broncos have had a rough time thus far, going 0-2 on the year. Courtland Sutton has been inconsistent, which could have something to do with the quarterback play. In Week 1, he went 4/32/1, and in game two he did 5/66. For a player who has been on the field for 88% of snaps, he hasn’t gotten much separation from the defense. They now head to Miami where the defense hasn’t given up a big play to a wide receiver in the first two games. With the inconsistencies around the team and quarterback Russell Wilson, I would sit Sutton this week.

Jerome Ford, RB – Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns (Sheldon Hand)

Ford put together a solid performance after Chubb went out. However, take away his long run and he only averaged 2.4 yards per carry. The Browns take on a tough Titans run defense. They are number two against fantasy RBs. I believe Ford is the guy moving forward despite the Hunt signing. You are probably excited to get him into your lineup after spending all your FAAB on him, but this is not the game to trust him. He is at best a desperation play. He’s ranked 25th this week for a reason on FantasyPros. I’d even pivot to Gus Edwards, Kendre Miller, or even Roschon Johnson.
