Week 14 of the fantasy football season is here. For most of us, that means the final week of the regular season. Whether you’re fighting for a playoff spot or trying to spoil someone else’s chances, it’s safe to say this season has been completely unpredictable. To keep you covered week in and week out, The League Winners are here to help you with any start or sit questions you have. Spending the week agonizing over who to start in your flex? Put your mind to rest and rely on us to do the dirty work for you. If you missed last week’s picks, you can see them here.
Start
Daniel Bellinger, TE – New York Giants (Thomas Christopher)
Naming a tight end as a ‘start’ probably isn’t the smartest decision, but the Giants don’t have any real pass-catchers outside of Darius Slayton. In his first game back from injury, Bellinger pulled in a 97 percent snap count and hauled in all five of his targets. In a tough divisional matchup, I’m expecting Daniel Jones’ safety valve to find some space, get plenty of dump offs, and hopefully a touchdown. I’m starting Bellinger in my fantasy football lineups.
DK Metcalf, WR – Seattle Seahawks (Aaron St. Denis)
Jeff Wilson, RB – Miami Dolphins (Jeremy Shulman)
If we ignore last week’s tough loss to the 49ers, Wilson has posted 13.2, 20.3 and 11.2 PPR points in a Dolphins uniform. Those outputs came against the Bears, Browns and Texans, respectively; so, if nothing else, it stands to reason that he’s a good play against bad defenses. This week he’ll face the Chargers, a defense that has struggled in many facets of the game, but none worse than against the run. They have given up the 3rd most fantasy points to RBs this season. I expect Wilson and Mostert will have nice days in this one. I’m happy to fire him up with six teams on bye this week.
DJ Moore, WR – Carolina Panthers (Sheldon Hand)
DJ Moore averaged 13.5 points last year in the first eight games with Darnold. In those games he also averaged around 10 targets per game. With Darnold back under center, Moore scored 18.3 points in a tough matchup against the Broncos in Week 12. This week the Panthers pass-catchers have their work cut out for them. However, look for Darnold to target Moore heavily to keep up with the Seahawks. He is currently ranked as the WR22 on FantasyPros. I think he surpasses that ranking without a TD, a top five performance is possible with a TD!
Tony Pollard, RB – Dallas Cowboys (Harry Prskalo)
What a beast Tony Pollard has been so far into the season. He is the RB9 in fantasy football, and should be boosting up the rankings after this week. In the last five games, Pollard has been a top-8 RB in four of them. With or without Ezekiel Elliott there, he is still getting his touches – and is doing great with them. This week he gets to go against the Houston Texans which rank the worst rushing defense in the NFL. Start Pollard in your fantasy football lineups this week and enjoy the game he will give you.
Sit
Gabe Davis, WR – Buffalo Bills (Thomas Christopher)
I originally had Jakobi Meyers here, but he was ruled OUT with a concussion just prior to posting. Instead, I’m pivoting to another AFC East WR, Gabriel Davis. Gabe Davis has been an underwhelming player for fantasy football this season. Despite the belief that Davis would take off this year, he’s been a boom or bust player. He’s only had more than 5 catches once this season, and outside of four huge games he’s been mediocre. This week he takes on a tough Jets secondary; one that he struggled with in Week 9 when he only put up 2 catches for 33 yards on 5 targets. I’m fading Davis in a huge Week 14 matchup.
Dameon Pierce, RB – Houston Texans (Aaron St. Denis)
James Conner, RB – Arizona Cardinals (Jeremy Shulman)
Travis Etienne, RB – Jacksonville Jaguars (Sheldon Hand)
Leonard Fournette, RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Harry Prskalo)
This has been a disappointing year for last year’s RB6. Last year and starting this year he has been a workhorse back. Now, he has not seen more than 75% of snaps since Week 6. The team loves Rachaad White, and he is being used a lot more as the season goes on. Fournette is also going into the weekend with a foot injury, and they happen to play one of the best defenses in the league. With it being a 50/50 split, elite defense, and a foot injury. I am going to let Lenny hit my bench until he can show me something.
