We gathered our fantasy football devy staff together, and teamed up with some of the best in the industry to do a SuperFlex mock draft. Let’s take a look at the results!
1.01 DJ Uiagalelei QB Clemson
Drafted by Kevin Coleman- Fantasy Pros @Daboys_22
Having the first pick, this was an easy one. In fantasy football SuperFlex leagues, quarterbacks reign supreme. DJ Uiagalelei is my number one rated quarterback in college football.
1.02 Spencer Rattler QB Oklahoma
Drafted by Brandon Lejeune- The Devy Deep Dive Podcast @DevyDeepDive
Having a potential decade-long QB1 starter is too much to pass up here. Yes, the current devy darling Bijan is available, but quarterbacks reign supreme in SuperFlex formats.
1.03 Breece Hall RB Iowa State
Drafted by Cory Pereira- Breakout Finder @FF_Guitarist
Choosing Breece Hall here will shock some folks, but I’ve never wavered from this position. He checks every box: Size, production, athleticism, and versatility. He exceeds analytic thresholds and exhibits some of the most natural instincts at the RB position. Although the tier at the top has two running backs, I see no reason why Breece Hall should not be considered the overall RB1 in devy. Getting him a year earlier is just the cherry on top.
1.04 Bijan Robinson RB Texas
Drafted by Matthew Jackson- Dynasty Nerds @DevyMatt
You won’t find an easier pick than Bijan Robinson at the 1.04. Yes, I could have gone with a prospect with more long-term value with Sam Howell, but Bijan has all the tools of a true workhorse running back and S-T-U-D at the next level. Realistically he probably won’t fall this far in an actual devy draft, but if he does, snatch that value.
1.05 Treylon Burks WR Arkansas
Drafted by Tom Helles- The Dynasty Lounge @punyhuman_
Treylon Burks is a slight reach here, but give me the upside! At 6’3 230 pounds, Burks profiles as a potential alpha WR that NFL teams covet. The sky is the limit if Arkansas lets him loose this year.
1.06 Jahmyr Gibbs RB Georgia Tech
Drafted by Brandon Haye- The League Winners @hayeb3
Jahmyr Gibbs, I believe, is the second best running back in the 2023 class (behind Bijan, of course). Gibbs is a great receiver with excellent vision. I think he will be an even better NFL player than college.
1.07 Sam Howell QB North Carolina
Drafted by Joe O’Leary- The League Winners @TheHQNerd
Sam Howell has all the tools. His combination of talent parlayed with his college production to date, suggests he should be a top NFL pick come next April. Getting Howell at the 1.07 in SuperFlex feels like outstanding value here.
1.08 Kayshon Boutte WR LSU
Drafted by Dynasty PJ- Dynasty Nerds @mastapj
Boutte exploded onto the scene last season as a true freshman and posted a dominator rating of over 40% over his final three games of the season; including a 14 catch, 308 yard, and three touchdown performance in the final game of the season. This, coupled with his dominating performance in the LSU spring game, has moved him up to WR1 on my board and I’d be happy to get him at this point in a fantasy football devy draft.
1.09 Isaiah Spiller RB Texas A&M
Drafted by Sam Crampton- Dynasty Nerds @DevyCramps
Isaiah Spiller is my RB1 for the 2022 class, and a top-5 overall devy player. He brings great patience, burst, balance, and power to his game. He already has NFL size at 6’1″ 225 pounds, and is a proven pass-catcher as well with 49 receptions in his first two seasons. I won’t be surprised if he plays himself into a first round selection next April.
1.10 Garrett Wilson WR Ohio State
Drafted by Brian Craighead- The League Winners @vandygrad92
Ranked by many as the WR1 in the 2022 class, Garrett Wilson has great athleticism on jump balls and tremendous ability to separate from defenders. Wilson is an elite devy asset at the wide receiver position.
1.11 Tank Bigsby RB Auburn
Drafted by Britt Sanders- Breakout Finder @TheFFSandman
The last of the top tier of the 2023 running backs that, assuming healthy, will find their way into high draft capital. Tank Bigsby may not offer the upside of Gibbs or Robinson from a pass-catching point of view. However, from a rushing point of view, he is neck in neck as the best in this class so far. Getting a solid running back is imperative for my devy team builds, so I am happy to wait a year for a valuable asset.
1.12 David Bell WR Purdue
Drafted by Michael Nelson- Dynasty League Football @aNellytics
David Bell has dominated BIG10 defenses from the moment he got to Purdue. A 27.1% wDOM as a freshman and 37.6% wDOM as a sophomore are significantly above age average and indicators of his talent level. At 6’2″ 205 pounds, Bell has that alpha build that NFL teams covet. He’s very likely to continue to put up video game numbers and be a first round pick next year and is a no-brainer at this point in the draft.
Thank you to those who kindly contributed to this fantasy football devy mock draft. Keep an eye out for Round 2 coming soon!
