We are steamrolling through the NFL season. Week 6 is upon us in a blink of an eye. There have been numerous significant injuries in this short season; but never fear, we have you covered! Now that bye weeks have started, let’s take a look at some key players that can help out your fantasy football team. First, let’s peak at a few hits and misses from the previous weeks.
Hits
Alex Anazalone – Det: Anzalone is still playing 100 percent of defensive snaps. He has been putting up decent numbers, but as long the playing time is there he will continue to get better and make plays. Add Anzalone if you are in pinch due to bye weeks.
Cole Holcomb – WFT: Holcomb has been a nice surprise this season. He currently has 48 tackles on the season; on pace for 140+ for the year. Add Holcomb if he is still on you waivers.
Tae Crowder – NYG: Replacing a savvy veteran like Blake Martinez isn’t easy, but Crowder stepped up to the task. He is playing all defensive snaps and has 20 total tackles since replacing Martinez in Week 3. Crowder will get better as he gets more playing time. Add Crowder!
Misses
Kendall Fuller – WFT: Even though the opportunities are there, Fuller hasn’t made the most of them. You can safely drop Fuller.
Zack Baun – NO: Baun has been playing around 80 percent of the snaps the last few weeks but has very little show for it. Definite drop candidate without hesitation.
Week 6 Pickups
Anthony Walker – CLE: Walker returned from IR last week and posted six tackles while playing 73 percent of the snaps. The coaching staff wanted to ease Walker back into game shape. Look for Walker to get more playing time and return to being the tackling machine that he is. This may be the last chance to add Walker to your fantasy football team.
Logan Wilson – CIN: Wilson has been rock solid all year, yet quietly going under the radar in fantasy football leagues. He currently has 47 total tackles and one sack. Wilson is currently the 5th highest IDP player in terms of points scored this season. If he somehow available, grab him immediately.
Damien Wilson – JAX: With Myles Jack dealing with a back injury suffered last week, Wilson stepped in and took over play-calling duties on the defense. Wilson has been playing 85 percent plus of the snaps since Week 3. With Jack being out this week, look for that number to climb. He has thus far had a solid season with 37 total tackles. Wilson can be a good plug and play IDP for this week.
Danny Trevathan – CHI: Trevathan returned from IR last week and played in 15 percent of the snaps and recorded three tackles. This most likely were the Bears easing back Trevathan to game speed. He is a tackling machine, when healthy. Look for his snap count to start increasing from here on out. He can be a rock solid IDP add.
