Starting after this week, we will start learning more about each team’s tendencies as four games us a trend. Let’s see what the GameDay Edge stats help us learn about the matchups in week 4. I hope you have had a chance to take a look at the positional GameDay Edge matchup tool by The League Winners to gain you an edge on your weekly fantasy football matchups. If not go check it out here.
The GameDay Edge tool combines volume and productivity by players into one matchup score. As the season goes on, the tool will gain better correlation. The tool is meant to help uncover matchups that might have the potential to boom which are not evident intuitively. It’s early in the season and teams are still incorporating some new players and/or schemes. After week 3 or 4, the sample size will help correlate better. For now, use this as a gauge to identify high-volume plays.
Week 4 GameDay Edge Passing Game Tidbits
- The Pittsburgh Steelers‘ defense has given up 50 receptions to wide receivers while the Houston Texans‘ offense has 52 pass completions to wide receivers. CJ Stroud is the front-runner for rookie OPOY. Look for both Nico Collins and Tank Dell to be worthy flex spot/WR2 players this week.
- The Raiders–Chargers game looks to be a repeat of the LAC-MIN game from Week 3. The game has the highest total number of WR receiving touchdowns in Week 4. The Chargers have given up a league-winning six receiving touchdowns while the Raiders are tied for second with five receiving touchdowns given up to wide receivers.
- The Dallas Cowboys–New England Patriots game looks to be set up as a low-efficiency pass game pitting two elite pass defenses. I would sigh away from playing any NE Patriot wide receivers while even CeeDee Lamb may struggle as Belichek makes him the focal point of the defense gameplan.
Week 4 GameDay Edge Rushing Game Tidbits
- The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills offenses are first and fourth in yards per rush attempt by running backs with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers sandwiched between them. Maybe being an efficient running team is more than the number of rush attempts for an offense.
- Kenneth Walker is third amongst running backs with 51.7 fantasy points through three games. In Week 4, he gets a juicy matchup once again facing the New York Giants who are giving up 4.15 yards per rush attempt to the tune of 21 fantasy points a game.
- Rachaad White has been seeing a ton of snaps. However, he is projected to score the lowest fantasy points. Teams are running the fifth-lowest number of rush attempts against the Saints. Rachaad White could finish outside the top-24 in RB fantasy points this week.
