No more undefeated teams are left in the NFL. Defenses are increasing playing shell coverage in 2023 trying to limit big plays. Offenses have been dinking-and-dunking most of the drives as a result. Look for that to change as offenses figure out ways to push the ball downfield. With so many good players on a bye, check out the positional GameDay Edge matchup tool by The League Winners to gain you an edge on your weekly fantasy football matchups.
The GameDay Edge tool combines volume and productivity by players into one matchup score. As the season goes on, the tool will gain better correlation. The tool is meant to help uncover matchups that might have the potential to boom which are not evident intuitively. It’s early in the season and teams are still incorporating some new players and/or schemes. By now, the sample size will help correlate better. Use this as a gauge to identify high-volume plays. Let’s look at some interesting matchups for Week 7.
Week 7 GameDay Edge Passing Game Tidbits
- The Seattle Seahawks have given up the most pass attempts and completions to opposing teams. The volume is there for Hollywood Brown to continue his solid start this season. With news of Kyler Murray returning from injury, the time to buy low on Hollywood Brown may be gone. Brown can potentially finish as top-5 WR.
- The Green Bay Packers are the lucky team this week as they get to face the Denver Broncos. This could be the week Jordan Love returns to his early season start with Aaron Jones, Christian Watson, and Luke Musgrave set up to boom. The Broncos have allowed the most points to both the RB and TE positions.
- The Jacksonville Jaguars face the New Orleans Saints on TNF. This will be a tough defense for the offense Couple that with the elite Jaguars’ defense, this game is likely to be low-scoring. Calvin Ridley and Christian Kirk could disappoint this week.
Week 7 GameDay Edge Rushing Game Tidbits
- The Cleveland Browns should lean on their run game against the Indianapolis Colts. Kareem Hunt, who is exceptional in the redzone his entire career, is a good flex spot again this week.
- Rachaad White is becoming a roster clogger on a weekly basis. Tampa Bay is tied for the worst yards per rushing attempt, tied with the Las Vegas Raiders. They face a tough Atlanta Falcons defensive front who have not allowed a rushing touchdown yet. Fade White this week.
- Ken Walker is set up for a massive week this week against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have given up nine total touchdowns to running backs, five through the ground and four through to the air. He is set up to finish Week 7 as the overall RB1.
