The Jacksonville Jaguars enter the 2024 NFL season looking to rebound after the collapse of the 2023 season. Last season, we saw the team fall apart after the Trevor Lawrence injury against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Jaguars brought in a new defensive coordinator and retooled the wide receiver room. Will this be enough to get them back to the playoffs? Let’s take a look at their schedule and my predictions before the season.
Jacksonville Jaguars Game-By-Game Schedule Predictions 2024
Week 1: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Miami Dolphins
This is a tough game to start. The Dolphins are a team that gets off to good starts and then tails off at the end of the year. Jacksonville will be able to move the ball and score some points, but the Dolphins’ offense will be too much for the Jaguars defense in their first game.
Result: Loss (0-1)
Week 2: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Cleveland Browns
This is the only home game for the Jaguars in the first four games of the year. And, it is a big one with the difficulty of their early season schedule. The Browns’ defense is very strong and they will need to make sure to give help against Myles Garrett. In a close game I just believe in Trevor Lawrence more than Deshaun Watson right now.
Result: Win (1-1)
Week 3: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Buffalo Bills
After getting their first win, the Jaguars have another tough test against the Bills on Monday Night Football. The Bills and Josh Allen have not faired well against the Jaguars lately. Those games were in Jacksonville and London, so at home with a raucous crowd I think the Bills will get this one.
Result: Loss (1-2)
Week 4: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans
This is a big game to start the season, as the Texans are the favorite to win the division. The Jaguars have always struggled against the Texans, even when they have not been very good. In a short week CJ Stroud and the offense will do enough to outscore the Jaguars. I think this game could be a shootout and the Jaguars’ secondary will not be able to contain the talented wide receiver trio of the Texans.
Result: Loss (1-3)
Week 5: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts
The Jaguars get their second home game of the season and need this game desperately. Lawrence has played well against the Colts in his career going 4-2 and throwing nine touchdowns and only two interceptions. In the one game against the Jaguars last year, Anthony Richardson struggled and I think that will be the case again.
Result: Win (2-3)
Week 6: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Chicago Bears (London)
This game is technically a road game for the Jaguars, but they have plenty of experience in London. The Bears’ offense has multiple new playmakers, yet there will be growing pains with a rookie quarterback. This game will be one of them, as the Jaguars get on a roll and know this is a game they have to win.
Result: Win (3-3)
Week 7: Jacksonville Jaguars vs New England Patriots (London)
This is the second game for the Jaguars in London and they get another winnable matchup against the Patriots. The defense should be able to control the Patriots’ offense who look to be one of the bottom level offenses in the NFL.
Result: Win (4-3)
Week 8: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Green Bay Packers
The Jaguars return to Duval and start a tough stretch of games in a crucial part of their season. Being back at home will be a big edge and the Packers offense will make plays – but the Jaguars will make more.
This should be an exciting offensive game. However, Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker will be able to cause enough pressure to disrupt Jordan Love enough for a victory.
Result: Win (5-3)
Week 9: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Philadelphia Eagles
The Jaguars come in on a four game winning streak, but unfortunately it stops here. The Eagles offense will be too much for the Jaguars. The retooled Eagles’ secondary will limit Lawrence enough to get the win.
Result: Loss (5-4)
Week 10: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Minnesota Vikings
I think the Vikings will be better than people think. But this is a game the Jaguars need to win.
At home, the Jaguars will be able to take advantage of the Vikings’ secondary. And, there’s little reason to think Sam Darnold can win a shootout.
Result: Win (6-4)
Week 11: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Detroit Lions
This is another tough road game after a home win. The Lions will be more physical than the Jaguars, and the duo of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs will just be too much. The improved Lions secondary will do enough to frustrate the Jaguars’ offense and get a win.
Result: Loss (6-5)
Week 13: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Houston Texans
Lawrence and the Jaguars have split the series with the Texans the last two years. Houston has not lost in Jacksonville since 2017, and the streak finally ends in 2024. A huge game with the crowd will be just enough to will the Jaguars to this win.
Result: Win (7-5)
Week 14: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans
After a huge win against the Texans, the Jaguars have a let down in Tennessee. Jacksonville has won three of the last four, but have only won in Tennessee once in the last 10 years. This game usually is a tough, physical battle and the Jaguars can’t match the Titans in this one.
Result: Loss (7-6)
Week 15: Jacksonville Jaguars vs New York Jets
Both teams come into this game looking to make it to the playoffs as wildcard teams. This could be somewhat of an elimination game this late in the season.
The Jets have a very good defense but the only receiver I am scared of is Garrett Wilson. Lawrence and the offense will do enough to come away with a victory at home.
Result: Win (8-6)
Week 16: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Las Vegas Raiders
For once this season, the Jaguars will get a road win after a big home victory. Will Gardner Minshew still be the starter by this time of the year?
I don’t think it matters, as the Jaguars’ defense will be able to limit everyone but Davante Adams. The Raiders secondary is not up to the task and the Jaguars will win this one fairly easily.
Result: Win (9-6)
Week 17: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Tennessee Titans
After taking a loss in Tennessee the Jaguars get the revenge at home. Will Levis will have ups and downs as an inconsistent signal caller.
This may be one of Levis’ “down games”, as the Jaguars’ defense will get pressure and cause turnovers to help the offense have a short field.
Result: Win (10-6)
Week 18: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts
The Jaguars get to end the season at home against the Colts. In back-to-back years they will get the sweep of the season series. The Colts will be out of contention and look to be spoilers. Yet with everything on the line, the Jaguars don’t choke like last season.
Result: Win (11-7)
Standing at a 11-7 record to end the season, I think this will be enough to get the Jaguars back in the postseason.
After a disastrous 1-3 start, the Jaguars end the season as one of the hottest teams in the NFL and will look to make noise in the playoffs. While these predictions aren’t meant to be a sure thing, they are a best guess as to how the season could play out for Jacksonville this year.
