ROUND 3: Key Players Takeaways

The next five players not shown in the chart:

Advancing Teams: Travis Kelce (ADP 10.49), Justin Jefferson (ADP 16.2), Justin Fields (ADP 55.84), TJ Hockenson (ADP 65.4), and Austin Ekeler (ADP 18.86)

Non-advancing Teams: DJ Moore (ADP 58.79), Curtis Samuel (ADP 215.42), Marcus Mariota (ADP 145.88), Mac Jones (ADP 60.26), and Jaylen Waddle (ADP 61.75)

Key Takeaways:
  1. The fact that Josh Allen is on both lists is mind-blowing. He placed 24th in terms of points scored with 20.58 SFB scoring points. This is a curious case but I would wager these teams also had other players from the non-advancing teams’ list as well.
  2. The only players from the advancing list that scored in the top ten for week 14 are Jalen Hurts, Trevor Lawrence, and Miles Sanders. I believe that validates that having a high season-long average is beneficial in the playoffs as you do not need boom weeks from individual players.
  3. Justin Fields being 13th on the advancing list is a testament to his late-season scoring. Justin Fields was on a bye in week 14!
  4. Not listed here but Deshaun Watson came in at 16th for the advancing teams. That bodes well for those teams to make a deep playoff run since their squads likely consist of solid players due to punting QB.
  5. There seems to be some evidence that having the playoffs during regular season bye weeks has a negative impact on teams. Curtis Samuel (12th) and Marcus Mariota (13th), caused several teams to not advance into round 4. Since their ADPs were in the 12th round or beyond, they were tremendous value picks.
  6. SFB is the ultimate SF league as evidenced by five quarterbacks in each list. In SFB, you ride or die by your QBs. Take my team for example. I had Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Justin Fields’ late-season resurgence was not enough for my team to make the playoffs.
  7. The Philadelphia Eagles have not one, not two but three players in the top 10 list: Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, and Miles Sanders.
