NFL Betting: Week 5 Recap
With injuries derailing success and outlier performances throwing us for a loop we both ended up with a .500 record for the week. Here are a couple stories from last week’s pick ‘em that shook things up for us.
Both of us took the over on Saquon Barkley’s 88.5 total yardage only to be derailed b y his ankle injury early in the game. Get well soon, Mr. Barkley. Mikey taking the over on Justin Herbert’s 292.5 passing yards helped him break even and Sal’s under-pick kept him behind. As of right now our records dating from week four are as follows:
- Mikey: 9-7
- Sal: 7-9
Without further ado, here are our week six Over/Under Pick ‘em player prop selections.
NFL Betting: Week 6 Over/Under
Sunday 9:30 AM (London)
Dolphins at Jaguars
Myles Gaskin – 69.5 Rush + Rec Yards
Mikey – Over
Myles Gaskin had his best game to date for the 2021 season against a top run defense in the Buccaneers. Gaskin had most of his work through the air and I expect the same this week with injuries to multiple pass catchers.
Sal – Over
The Jags give up about four receptions and 34 receiving yards a game to opposing RBs. I expect Gaskin to outperform that, and be utilized similarly to last week.
James Robinson – 91.5 Rush Yards
Mikey – Over
The Dolphins are giving up the second most points to opposing running backs. James Robinson should have himself a day.
Sal – Over
James Robinson has become the focal point of the Jags offense over the past few weeks. There’s a good chance that continues, and Robinson dominates.
NFL Betting: Over/Under – Sunday 1 PM Game
Texans at Colts
Brandin Cooks 69.5 Rec Yards
Mikey – Under
Brandin Cooks has had a tough schedule. I do not believe he bounces back against a division rival.
Sal – Over
This one’s a bit of a gamble, with Davis Mills still set to start. However, the Colts rank near the bottom of the league in yards given up to opposing receivers. All it takes is one big play.
Michael Pittman – 63.5 Rec Yards
Mikey – Over
Pittman has become the number one target for this offense and it will continue against a bottom five defense in the Texans.
Sal – Over
Pittman is by far the best WR Wentz has to throw to. Passing this mark in three out of his last four games, I expect Pittman to clear this one.
Chargers at Ravens
Austin Ekeler – 104.5 Rush + Rec Yards
Mikey – Under
The Ravens are a top-7 defense against the run. Ekeler will see his fair share through the air, but he will be limited on the ground.
Sal – Over
Baltimore’s defense has been a little suspect as of late. And with Mike Williams missing practice for basically the entire week, I expect Ekeler to get a ton of targets.
Marquise Brown – 64.5 Rec Yards
Mikey – Under
The Chargers are a top team against the pass, especially wide receivers. Hollywood struggles in this one.
Sal – Over
Someone has to eat! Expect Hollywood to continue his hot streak! The Ravens offense has been a shell of itself this season, and Hollywood has been one of the only bright spots in their offense.
NFL Betting: Over/Under – Sunday 4 PM Games
Cardinals at Browns
Kyler Murray – 315.5 Total Yards
Mikey – Under
With Kliff Kingsbury not being available for the game due to testing positive for COVID, I expect more impromptu play calling. Look for some struggles, not to mention Murray dealing with a shoulder injury to his throwing arm.
Sal – Over
Kingsbury Shmingsbury. The Cardinals have one of the best offenses in the NFL so far. The Browns’ secondary has also played very poor this season. Expect this to be a shootout. Over easy!
Baker Mayfield – 256.5 Pass Yards
Mikey – Under
The Cardinals are a very good defense against the pass. The Browns will rely on the heavy run game, even with Nick Chubb being ruled out.
Sal – Over
Baker has only thrown for 256+ yards twice this season. Both times were against top offenses in the NFL (Chiefs and Chargers). I expect the Browns to throw a lot more than usual, especially with Nick Chubb out.
