NFL Week 17 Bets, Picks, and Predictions

Harry Prskalo

When it comes down to these final weeks, it’s not a bad idea to look at the playoff scenario and see who’s needs to win. This week I am targeting two teams that desperately need to win to stay in the playoff picture. Courtland Sutton hit this mark in six straight weeks, before the last two games. With the season on the line against a bad Bengals defense, look for Sutton to be the main piece in trying to lock them in for the playoffs.

Baker Mayfield is in the same boat, they need to win and need some other teams to lose to get in. Against a Carolina Panthers defense, Mayfield should be airing out the ball all game long.

Michael Cavallo

  • Chargers +4.5 (-110)
  • Panthers +7.5 (-110)
  • Lions -3.5 (-105)
  • Brock Bowers 60+ receiving yards (-170)
  • Saquan Barkley 100+ rushing yards (-160)

Heading into Week 17, Raiders tight end Brock Bowers is tied for second in the NFL with 101 receptions and is on pace to have a big game against the Saints. Also, the rookie tight end is ranked No. 8 in the league with 1,067 receiving yards. Throughout the season, he has recorded 60+ receiving yards seven times.

As for Eagles running back Saquan Barkley, the former Penn State prospect is trying to pass Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record. He is 268 yards away from breaking Dickerson’s record and is on pace to have a big game against the Cowboys. Barkley has recorded 100+ rushing yards ten times this season.

Evan Solomon

  • Chargers -4 (-112)
  • Colts -7.5 (-110)
  • Dolphins -6.5 (-110)
  • Trey McBride 70+ Receiving Yards (+115)
  • Bijan Robinson 90+ Rushing Yards (+125)

The Cardinals play the Rams, who are bottom 10 on defense against the tight end position. McBride has hit 70+ yards receiving in 5 of the past 6 games, and he was vocal about his frustration last week after their loss to the Panthers and not being utilized enough. Expect the team to lean on him to get their mojo back, even though they’ve been eliminated from playoff contention.

The Falcons are in a must-win game against the Commanders and their bottom 5 defense in rushing yards per game. As one of the best running backs in the league, Bijan has hit 90+ rushing yards in the past 4 previous games and has a great chance of doing it again in this game.

Brandon Haye

  • Bengals -3 (-118)
  • Raiders -1.5 (-105)
  • Lions ML (-180)
  • Bo Nix O 20.5 Rushing Yards (-113)
  • Bijan Robinson O 83.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

The Bengals are giving up over 31 rushing yards per game to quarterbacks. Bo Nix has gone over this mark in the last two games. He has been inconsistent in passing the ball so I see Nix running more to move the chains.

Bijan Robinson has been on a tear lately. He has over 90 yards in all of his last four games and the Falcons should want to stay balanced with this being Michael Penix Jr’s 2nd start. The Commanders give up the fifth highest rushing yards per game, so I see Robinson having a huge day.

Brandon grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and works as a health insurance data analyst. He has no children, but two fur babies - Squirt and Brownie. He and his wife, Katie, spend their time playing poker and enjoying time with their pups. Brandon is a huge Michigan Wolverine and Jacksonville Jaguars fan. He at one time was in 77 fantasy leagues and loves the game of football. Brandon started writing for The Leauge Winners in 2021.
