We are already onto Week 3 of the Scott Fish Bowl (#SFB12) playoffs. In this unique charity fantasy football tournament, first two playoff weeks, the bottom 10% of point scorers are eliminated. Read up on the rules at scottfishbowl.com. Let’s look at the players that led to a playoff victory.

Michael Salwan’s (@mraladdin23) data gives us insight into which fantasy football players led their teams to make the cut and the players tanked their respective teams. If you missed the regular season article looking at the SFB12 league winners, check it out here.
ROUND 1: Key Players Takeaways
Week 12 – Wild Card Week 1
- Week 12 was Josh Jacobs’ coming out party. Jacobs rushed 33 times for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns while catching 6 of 7 targets for 74 yards. He single-handedly carried underperforming teams into the next playoff round.
- Seeing Patrick Mahomes second for teams advancing to Week 2 of the playoffs is strange. In Week 12, Patrick Mahomes was very mediocre per his standards. Mahomes was 40th in terms of Scott Fish Bowl scoring. It would be interesting to see how many teams had two or more players from the top ten in this list. It also is due to the fact that in the Scott Fish Bowl playoffs, each team’s average score from the season gets added to the playoff week score.
- A team could exist with Patrick Mahomes, Stefon Diggs, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, and Josh Jacobs due to the third-round reversal (3RR) draft of the SFB.
- Evidently, the players in the non-advancing team are far more telling. You see several studs that underperformed either due to tough matchups or low volume due to the game script. Joe Burrow had a down game against the Tennessee Titans but was the 12th most rostered player in playoff teams. Several injured players (FIelds, Mooney, Kupp, Smith-Schuster, and Mixon) also make the list keeping the theme of injury luck a major factor.
Round 2: Key Players Takeaways
Week 13 – Wild Card Week 2
- I think due to a late-round 5 ADP of Josh Jacobs and his being RB1 so far on the season, he will continue to dominate these lists. Teams were able to surround him with several QB1s, RB1s, WR1s, and Kelce.
- Again on the non-advancing teams, injury played a major role. Lamar Jackson, Jaylen Waddle, Aaron Jones, Cortland Sutton, and Jakobi Meyers all missed large portions of the week 13 games and likely were starting for their fantasy football teams.
- Cooper Kupp being on the non-advancing team list again actually speaks to his superstardom in fantasy football. Since the season average score is added to the week’s score during the playoffs, Cooper Kupp provided several teams with high floor average scores.
