Roster Cloggers after Week 7

Week 7 is over, so it’s time to take another look at players that aren’t worth a roster spot any longer. Last week, I mentioned Jahan Dotson, Skyy Moore, and Dalvin Cook as my roster cloggers after week 6. Dotson saw his second-highest target total of the year (8). Despite that, he still only managed 6.80 fantasy points. Sky Moore hauled in 2 of 3 targets for 15 yards, and Dalvin Cook was on a bye week. I feel confident in my decision tothese players Roster Cloggers. Let’s get into our Roster Cloggers after Week 7.

As we get into this week’s Cloggers, remember each of this week’s players is rostered in at least 35% of leagues on either ESPN or Sleeper’s fantasy football platforms. Let’s dive in!

Brett Maher, K, Los Angeles Rams

Our very first kicker of the year as a Roster Clogger. Brett Maher has missed six field goals and one extra point through seven games this year. As a Rams fan and fantasy manager, it’s been infuriating. On top of that, the Rams have officially released the kicker after his porous Week 7 performance. Look on the waiver wire and find a more reliable kicker in your leagues. Players like Brandon Aubrey, Nick Folk, and Dustin Hopkins are all widely available on both ESPN and Sleeper platforms.

Wan’Dale Robinson, WR —New York Giants

Wan’Dale Robinson has been pedestrian since his return from a torn ACL last season. He’s steadily seeing 60% of the snaps, yet he still can’t find his groove in an atrocious New York offense. In Week 7, Robinson posted one catch for 22 yards on two targets. He’s only finished as a top-40 WR once this season in Week 6. With tough matchups versus the Jets, Raiders, and Cowboys coming in the next three weeks, I don’t see Robinson having the opportunity to make a significant contribution to fantasy lineups anytime soon.

KJ Osborn, WR– Minnesota Vikings

KJ Osborn has been the poster boy for mediocrity since entering the league in 2020. Despite seeing 80+ targets in 2021 and 2022 he has only managed WR39 and WR45 finishes. This year looks no different. In his two games without Justin Jefferson, Osborn has combined for 14 fantasy points on 11 targets. I guess it’s fine for a bye week replacement, but I prefer to shoot for upside, and Osborn just doesn’t have it.

Watchlist: Jameson Williams, WR – Detroit Lions

Jameson Williams was a hot name this offseason after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s gambling policy. In the three games he’s played this year, Williams is averaging 4.5 fantasy PPG and has yet to play more than 50% of snaps in a game this year. Last week, Williams put up a goose egg. However, it was encouraging to see that he had six targets in a blowout loss to the Ravens. Currently, Williams isn’t on the field enough to be a viable fantasy football asset. I’ll keep an eye on him in Week 8 to find out if he sees an uptick in playing time before officially naming him a Roster Clogger.
