As the 2025 NFL draft approaches, multiple Rutgers football players have received high interest from scouts and analysts. Six Scarlet Knights could hear their names called during the 90th annual meeting of the NFL draft this month.
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to take place from April 24 to 26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin with coverage starting at 8:00 PM EST (April 24: Round 1 – 8 PM EST/ April 25: Rounds 2-3 – 7 PM EST/ April 26: Rounds 4-7 – 12 PM EST). The draft will be broadcast live on ESPN, ABC, NFL Network, ESPN Radio, and ESPN Deportes.
With that in mind, let’s highlight some of the notable Scarlet Knights entering the 2025 NFL draft.
Rutgers football: Notable players in the 2025 NFL draft
Kyle Monangai, Running Back
Rutgers football Kyle Monangai has been a standout offensive player for the Scarlet Knights. The former Don Bosco prospect rushed for over 2,500 yards in the past two seasons. Throughout the years, Monangai has showcased his toughness and consistency as a power rusher.
The 5-foot-9, 209-pound running back ran a 4.60-second 40-yard dash, earning him a spot among the top-10 running backs in the draft. Throughout his college career, the Roseland, New Jersey, native logged 3,222 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns, ranking second in Rutgers football history in rushing yards.
Hollin Pierce, Offensive Tackle
Rutgers offensive lineman Hollin Pierce went from a walk-on recruit to an All-Big Ten left tackle for the Scarlet Knights. He played in 52 total games, starting 50 for the Scarlet Knights. The 6-foot-8 offensive lineman received Honorable Mention and Second-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2023 and 2024.
With the NFL Draft approaching, Pierce should be drafted as he developed into one of the top linemen in the Big Ten. He has a towering presence, transforming into a top-tier left tackle. His agility and strength have earned him a spot in ESPN’s top 180 prospects, with a grade of 59.
Robert Longerbeam, Cornerback
Rutgers defensive back Robert Longerbeam has raised interest across multiple franchises, showcasing his strong tackling and defensive skills. At 5-foot-11, 178 pounds, Longerbeam provides speed and versatility in the defensive secondary. He recorded a 4.39-second 40-yard dash and is known as a sure tackler at the corner position.
Longerbeam served as Rutgers football’s 2024 captain, demonstrating strong leadership on and off the field. He is known for his ball skills and his ability to disrupt passes. Over his collegiate career, he played 53 games (31 starts), recording 154 tackles, 37 pass deflections, and five interceptions.
Tyreem Powell, Linebacker
Tyreem Powell had an interesting journey while at Rutgers. A former high school quarterback, Powell transitioned to linebacker while playing with the Scarlet Knights. Standing at 6-foot-5, 252 pounds, Powell recorded a 4.92-second 40-yard dash. He is a high-volume tackler who offers excellent field awareness. Powell offers versatility in multiple defensive schemes, performing well in both man and zone coverages.
In 43 college games (32 starts), Powell has logged 201 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, nine pass breakups, one interception, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
Bryan Felter, Offensive Lineman
Rutgers interior lineman Bryan Felter performed well on the Scarlet Knights’ offensive line. In 2023, the 6-foot-3, 305 pounds left guard, earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors. His solid performance on the offensive line and a 5.30-second 40-yard dash highlight his potential at the NFL level. Felter started the first four games of the 2024 season at left guard until he suffered a knee injury that kept him out for the rest of the 2024 campaign. Felter offers lateral agility and quick processing against multiple defensive schemes. He has logged over 1,500 offensive snaps throughout his collegiate career and is a reliable prospect.
Aaron Lewis, Defensive End
Rutgers defensive end Aaron Lewis from Williamstown High School is projected as a mid-to-late round pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Lewis offers versatility, effective power moves, and strong run defense. He received Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors in 2023 and 2024, accumulating 176 total tackles throughout his career.
During his senior season, Lewis played in 11 games with nine starts, logging 28 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, and two pass breakups.
