Last week we had our worst week of the year. We had so many near misses with the Dolphins having to abandon the running game and the Rams unable to stop the Steelers and force another field goal. For the season I am 16/34 after the horrible Week 7. Let’s see if we can improve to over 50% again in Week 8.
Justin Herbert vs the Chicago Bears
Over 1.5 Pass TDs
I know… I am dipping into the bag again and it failed me last week. Justin Herbert has had a couple of games where he has not looked great. I think he bounces back in a must-win game for them. The Bears are the fourth worst against the pass in the NFL and give up the sixth-highest fantasy points to quarterbacks. If Herbert cannot do it this week the alarm bells really need to be ringing.
Javonte Williams vs the Kansas City Chiefs
Over 45.5 Rush Yds
Javonte Williams looks to be getting back to his old self as last week he had his best game against the Green Bay Packers. He finished with 82 rushing yards and is averaging over five yards a carry in the last two games. Speaking of that, the last time the Broncos faced the Kansas City Chiefs he ran for 52 yards. Williams looks like the best back and should get more than enough opportunities to keep the Chiefs offense off the field.
Josh Downs vs the New Orleans Saints
Over 3.5 Recs
Josh Downs finally had his big breakout last week with 125 receiving yards and a touchdown. He has been getting the targets even before last week. Downs has six or more targets in six of eight games and has five or more receptions in four of the last five games. The New Orleans Saints have a strong defense and are a tough matchup but they do give up the third most fantasy points to slot receivers. That is why I am not scared off by the matchup and Downs should easily go over this mark.
Adam Thielen vs the Houston Texans
Over 65.5 Rec Yards
Adam Thielen has turned back the clock and is a big-time performer for the Carolina Panthers. In three of the last four games, he has over 100 yards receiving and has a touchdown in four of his last five games. After the bye, the Panthers get the Houston Texans who are ranked 26th against the pass. Thielen has over 8 targets in the last five games and has double-digit targets in three of the last four games. The opportunities will be there and this should be another easy over.
Kyle Pitts vs the Tennessee Titans
Over 33.5 Rec Yds
This is a very risky prop because of Arthur Smith and his crazy ideas of how to use his best players. Kyle Pitts still is not reaching his potential but has over 40 receiving yards in five of seven games. In the last three games he has been targeted 22 times, so he is getting looks and that should be enough to get over this low yardage mark. The Tennessee Titans are 22nd in the NFL in giving up passing yards and just traded away safety Kevin Byard. Let’s cross our fingers that Smith doesn’t do anything crazy this week with Pitts.
