Derek Carr

Derek Dallas Carr (born March 28, 1991) is an American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Fresno State, where he twice received first-team All-MWC honors, and was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

A four-time Pro Bowler, Carr helped the Raiders reach the playoffs during the 2016 season as well as in 2021. Carr agreed with Raiders leadership to be released following the conclusion of the season. He left the Raiders as the franchise leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and pass completions.

The nine-year veteran is now on the Saints. There were some concerning signs of slippage for Carr in 2022. His interception rate (2.8%) was the highest of his career. His completion percentage (60.8%) was the lowest since his rookie year. He averaged 7.0 yards per attempt, a five-year low. Carr doesn’t add rushing value, so his fantasy value will depend on his ability to rebound from a down year as a passer.
