Underdog Pick’em Corner Week 8: Bears vs. Chargers

Welcome to Underdog Pick’em Corner—your best bet for finding those surefire winners in every NFL game. Week 7 is here and today we will focus on the game between the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers. For the full list of available Pick’em options, head to Underdog. For now, let’s look at Underdog Pick’em Corner: Bears vs. Chargers.

Chicago Bears

Tyson Bagent, QB

Tyson Bagent Prop to Target: Lower than 199.5 passing yards

Bagent has passed for 83 and 162 yards in his two appearances this season. In Week 8 he faces a Chargers defence that is a run funnel and the Bears are likely to turn him into a game manager. Even in a game where they are likely to trail, it’s unlikely the Bears will want to turn the rookie loose and expose him to failure.

DJ Moore, WR

DJ Moore Prop to Target: Higher than 5.0 receptions

Moore has hit this total in three of four games this season and in four of the last six. Despite a potential lack of passing opportunities for Bagent, Moore is likely to see his looks. Rookie quarterbacks tend to be single-read quarterbacks locked in on their WR1 and that figures to be the case here for DJ Moore.

D’Onta Foreman, RB

D’Onta Foreman Prop to Target: Higher than 48.5 rushing yards

Foreman’s prop is variable. He has easily topped 48.5 rushing yards in both games with Roschon Johnson on the sideline. If Johnson is out again this week and Foreman has the backfield to himself, take the over. If Roschon plays, play it safe and take the under.

Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert, QB

Justin Herbert Prop to Target: Lower than 265.5 passing yards

Herbert and the Chargers have struggled mightily this season. He has hit this passing yardage number only twice this season. He hasn’t hit the number since Week 3. The Chargers should handle the Bears easily in Week 8, the issue here is that the game may be out of hand early and Los Angeles may not need him to throw. Take the under here.

Keenan Allen, RB

Keenan Allen Prop to Target: Higher than 7.0 receptions

Allen has hit this number in only half of his games this season. He has had more than enough targets to hit this reception total in every matchup, but Justin Herbert’s inaccuracy has caused him to fall short in three different games. Herbert seems to be resolving those issues and in a matchup with a bad Bears defense, he should easily hit this number before the Chargers go on cruise control.

Austin Ekeler, RB

Austin Ekeler Prop to Target: Lower than 49.5 rushing yards.

Ekeler has shockingly only hit this total once this season. He has battled injury for much of the season and the Chargers appear to be in full load-management mode with the veteran. Ekeler could top this number easily in any game, but until I see him do it I am going to take the under and err on the side of his touches being managed.
