On what is one of the biggest days on the College Football calendar, the Washington Huskies needed to make a splash to keep the faith of the Husky fans, who no doubt were growing restless to see many 4 and 5-star prospects signing, or flipping their commitments to their rivals across state lines in Oregon, and by getting Marcus Harris to flip his commitment from Oklahoma, there is no doubt that some of the nerves of Husky Nation will be a little more settled.
About Marcus Harris
Harris, a four-star WR out of Mater Dei, originally committed to Oklahoma on June 17th, 2024. However, three days before signing day, he de-committed, and many wondered where the highly touted young receiver may end up. The allure of the Emerald City no doubt played a factor in his decision, and now Head Coach Jedd Fisch will have a key new piece to use in his offense.
As a junior, Harris put up some decent figures, catching 43 balls for 644 yards and 6 touchdowns. While these numbers may not stand out to you immediately, considering Mater Dei has had a consistently deep receiving core and is putting up good numbers while a good chunk of targets is being eaten up by other players on your team is impressive.

It has been said that ‘He has excellent hand-eye coordination and is one of the better receivers we’ve seen making contested catches with a corner draped over him’ giving him an element that has been missing in a somewhat stagnant offense this year for UW, as well as being able to be lined up in both the slot and outside, which could provide some more opportunities for him to shine early on, as his versatility could lead to him seeing the field more often than other receivers who specifically play inside or out.
This does leave Washington with quite a stockpile of WRs. There will no doubt be some on the way out, with Harris likely expecting to be fighting for snaps right away, and it shall be interesting to see if anyone enters the transfer portal to try and make a name for themselves elsewhere.
