Film Notes and Highlights

Ennis Rakestraw is a slot cornerback who played for Missouri. He seemed to perform well in press coverage in the slot, staying aggressive with receivers upon their release. He’s a sticky corner in man coverage, and understands where he needs to be in zone. However, he can have difficulty covering more twitchy wide receivers. He has a good recovery step, but can play a little too conservatively at times in his coverage assignment.

Despite being a smaller cornerback, Ennis Rakestraw showed good willingness as a run stopper. He showed no fear in stepping up to help make tackles, although at times he would make some very questionable pursuit options. I believe Rakestraw is a Day 2 cornerback who should have a long career as a slot cornerback. – Thomas Christopher
