Film Notes and Highlights

Jeremiah Trotter Jr is an instinctual linebacker. He can diagnose run plays well, and does a great job avoiding second level blocking attempts. However, he struggles to create true pressure when blitzing on passing downs unless he’s untouched. Trotter needs to work on his pursuit angles, which can be inconsistent and cause tackle whiffs. You’d also like to see him wrap up with his tackles more, opting to try and make a big shoulder hit instead of securing the tackle. This could hurt him at the next level.

Jeremiah Trotter Jr is a liability in coverage, often not reading the play well, straying out of his zone, and over pursuing in man. At the next level, I see Trotter as a Will linebacker who can succeed if he’s tasked to pressure the QB and hold the edge. To me, he’s a Day 3 prospect who will be drafted too early because of his name. – Thomas Christopher
