It is upon us. Everything we have prepared for in the last six months comes to show as we dawn upon the kickoff of yet another NFL season. My mind has been racing for the last few weeks, as we’ve seen some crucial blows to some of our favorite fantasy football dynasty assets.
In this season-long series, I’ll be giving a journey into my mind; a mind of a dynasty analyst as the season goes on. Week-to-week dynasty managing is harder than redraft, especially due to injuries and trades. I hope that these articles can help you rationalize your own thoughts, and eventually lead you to some championships.
I’ll have two articles a week for you all. Every Tuesday you will get an in-depth view on all my thoughts about the prior week. I’ve seen countless times where fantasy football dynasty managers overreact and panic due to really unfortunate circumstances. Having a place to drop my thoughts and worries will help people see a clearer path on how to manage the week to week struggles. I’m here for you, and every single thought I have I will share with you all. Kind of like my diary.
Sept. 9, we get Tampa Bay and Dallas. There’s been a lot of hype over the offseason for both of these teams. A few guys I’ll be watching are CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, and Ronald Jones.
We are all expecting a 2nd year leap for Lamb, so anything besides that and you’ll probably be disappointed. Michael Gallup is entering a contract year. While the consensus leans that he’ll be in a new jersey next season, I am super curious to see how the Cowboys tend to use him.
I want Ronald Jones to succeed. We all know he’s a talented runner, but we have all waited for the leap in pass-catching opportunity. His fantasy football ADP has always been a rollercoaster, but he enters a year in which we all expect the Buccaneers to be a potent offense. I hope he can feed off that Super Bowl high.
This weekend we have a beautiful slate of games. We’ll get to see a first look at rookie QB’s in Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones, and Zach Wilson. I have a lot of shares of both Mac and Zach, and I am super stoked to see how their rookie years turn out. We’ll also get to see Hurts/Devonta versus a weak Falcons defense. If they cannot succeed against a mediocre Atlanta team, then it might be a weaker season than we expected. Don’t forget about the breakouts of Antonio Gibson and Chase Claypool. I project these guys to boom big this year, and have a value that skyrockets near the top of their respective positions. The first week jitters are here, and I’m super stoked for kickoff.
Keep an eye out this week for your bottom of your roster players. These players ideally are rostered to be seen as players who can impact week 1. Do not be afraid to spend your FAAB. Let’s go win Week 1. I’ll see you all next Tuesday.
