The Green Bay Packers have been in four of the last seven NFC Championships games, yet find themselves struggling to retain two of the most talented players in football. The unraveling of the Green Bay Packers has been a historic one to watch occur, but they have no one else to blame but themselves.
Now being months since news broke that reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers had requested a trade, the entire world has been up in arms trying to figure this entire thing out. Whether it’s Rodgers starting Week 1, if he’s even going to play, or if he’s going to host Jeopardy!, the entire offseason has felt like it’s surrounded Lambeau Field. We’ve seen Jordan Love‘s dynasty value rise but have also seen star players Davante Adams and Aaron Jones‘ value fall. The repercussions of not having Aaron Rodgers are being felt hard within the fantasy football dynasty community.
Not only have the fantasy football implications been felt for the players surrounding Aaron, the real life implications are starting to take affect. Davante Adams, who’s set to become a free agent in 2022, has now cut off all contract negotiations that would keep him locked up in Green Bay long-term. It seems the first domino of many has fallen, and it could mean the start of what could be an overhaul of weapons in the frozen tundra.
When it comes to dynasty, Davante Adams has been a sell for me the moment Aaron Rodgers announced he wanted out. Unless you’re getting him at WR2 prices (you aren’t), he remains a guy whose dynasty value will never be higher. At the age of 28, he’s posted unreal numbers in two of his last three seasons. These numbers also came with Aaron Rodgers, who won the MVP award just a few months ago.
With the thought he may not play, or even retire (my prediction), I think it could all be over for the Rodgers/Adams years as we’ve seen them. Potential landing spots for star WR Davante Adams remain to be seen, but a few guesses I would have would be Las Vegas and Los Angeles. I could see Adams going to the Raiders to join former college teammate Derek Carr, but could also see him joining forces with Keenan Allen and Justin Herbert in Los Angeles. No matter what happens, I don’t see a situation where he’s better off than with reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers.
As Green Bay 2021 over-under win totals disappear from places like DraftKings, PointsBet, and Westgate, multiple sports books reportedly believe Aaron Rodgers will be retiring next week. https://t.co/LOIRFWJm1c

According to PFT as of just moments ago (at the time of this writing), it feels as if my prediction might have just become the favorite. However, Aaron Rodgers is represented by David Dunn, who also represented Carson Palmer in his time in Cincinnati. Palmer “retired”, which led to him leaving the Bengals; successfully getting his way out of the situation he no longer wanted to be in.
The fantasy football dynasty value for Rodgers, Adams, and Aaron Jones is falling every waking moment, and it’s time to get out. It’s kind of crazy to watch unfold, as just half a year ago they were one game away from the Super Bowl.
The tides have drastically shifted in Green Bay, and I’m sorry to all the Packers fans that have been caught in the biggest wave they’ve ever experienced. I hope the best for Rodgers in his future endeavors, and I wish the best for Adams wherever he may choose to play football in 2022.
