Roster Cloggers after Week 4

I hope you all had a fruitful week 4. The picture is getting much more transparent in the NFL, and I’m here to let you know who you can safely drop to waivers. We’re back with our Roster Cloggers after Week 4! However, Before getting into this week, I’d like to look at some of last week’s Cloggers and see how I did.

First, we have Darnell Mooney. Mooney scored 7.10 fantasy points on four catches for 51 yards. All in all, this is a win. He finally got some work as the offense exploded for 31 points, but Cole Kmet and D.J. Moore were the real stars of the offense.

Next up is Dalton Schultz. He hauled in three catches for 42 yards and a touchdown. It was a rather pedestrian game for Schultz outside of the TD, so I stand by my decision.

Finally, we have Brandin Cooks. Cooks finished with four catches for 26 yards. Michael Gallup was the go-to number two for the Cowboys in this one. Cooks rightfully belongs on waivers til he proves otherwise.

Justin Fields landed on my Honorable Mentions/ Watchlist, but he performed well, finishing as the QB3 on the week. He’s safe to keep on rosters.

As we get into the week 4 cloggers, remember each of this week’s players is rostered in at least 35% of leagues on either ESPN or Sleeper’s fantasy football platforms. Let’s dive in!

Pat Freiermuth, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers

I was under the assumption that Pat Freiermuth would have a much more significant role in this offense this season. However, let me set the record straight. This doesn’t mean to drop Freiermuth at this very moment, but he has become a streaming option, nothing more. In the last two games, he did not score a touchdown; Freiermuth has four catches for just nine yards. I’m okay with rostering him, but he’s completely touchdown-dependent.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR — New England Patriots

JuJu Smith-Schuster has been disappointing this season. He’s currently on pace for a career-low in snap percent with 60.8%. Resulting in a resounding 5.5 fantasy PPG. I hoped he’d take over the Jakobi Meyers role in the New England Patriots‘ offense. However, he looks like just another guy(JAG) with little upside. He’s rostered in 52.6% of ESPN leagues. Smith-Schuster’s floor is shallow, and the ceiling isn’t very high. If he’s on your roster, look for upside elsewhere.

Mike Williams, WR – Los Angeles Chargers

I can’t believe I have to write this out. For some reason, Mike Williams is still on over 45% of rosters in ESPN leagues. There is no reason for this. He’s not coming back this season. Drop him.

Watchlist: Kenneth Gainwell, RB – Philadelphia Eagles

Kenneth Gainwell had an odd start to the season. He saw 14 carries in his first two games, which is generally not his kind of workload. We’re coming back down to earth with the resurgence of D’Andre Swift. He’s seen his snap share decrease each game this season, with 38% in week 4. Another week of decreased usage will land Gainwell firmly in the Roster Cloggers category.
