Last week I almost went undefeated but Derek Carr came up just short. That brings the season record to 6-4 with just a couple of close misses. Let’s check out the five best Sleeper Picks for Week 3.
Kirk Cousins vs the Los Angeles Chargers
Over 1.5 Pass TDs
I spoke about the struggles the Vikings have had in the running game in my sleeper article this week. They did go trade for Cam Akers but I doubt that will change much at least for this week. Cousins has six touchdowns through two weeks and last year he had two or more touchdowns in nine games. The Chargers defense is struggling, giving up the second most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. I do not see that changing this week and see Cousins easily going over this touchdown mark.
Mac Jones vs the New York Jets
Over 218.5 Pass Yards
The Jets have a tough defense but through the air, they are giving up the 12th most pass yards through two games. I know the Patriots’ offense is not the same as the Bills or Cowboys, so expectations should not be super high. Even through two weeks of struggles, Mac Jones has gone over this passing yard mark in both weeks. It will not be pretty but Jones is going to hit this yardage if the Patriots want to keep from going 0-3.
Mike Evans vs the Philadelphia Eagles
Over 53.5 Rec Yards
So I was down on Mike Evans like many people coming into the season. He and the Buccaneers have proven people wrong so far. I thought Chris Godwin would be more productive than Evans but I was wrong. While the target difference is only 18 to 14 in favor of Evans, he has over twice the amount of yards as Godwin. This will be his biggest test of the season so far but the Eagles defense has not been as dominant this year, giving up 326 pass yards per game so far this season. Evans may reach this receiving yards target in the first half.
Zay Flowers vs the Indianapolis Colts
Over 48.5 Rec Yards
Zay Flowers has already become the number-one option at receiver for the Ravens. He has 15 targets through two weeks and has over 60 yards receiving in both games. Odell Beckham Jr. left the last game with injury so I see Flowers getting even more targets this week. The Colts are ranked 28th against the pass. They have been stiff against the run through two weeks, only allowing 78 yards on the ground per game. Last week C.J. Stroud was able to throw for over 400 yards, so this seems like an easy target for the talented rookie.
Ceedee Lamb vs the Arizona Cardinals
Over 5.5 Receptions
Against a tough Jets defense last week, Lamb hauled in 11 receptions for 143 yards. The Cardinals are only giving up 109 rushing yards a game, so teams have been attacking the pass more consistently through two weeks. Even Daniel Jones feasted and that was only in a half. He finished with over 300 passing yards vs. the Cardinals. Lamb barely missed this reception total week one against the Giants and that was with the offense not having to do too much in a blowout. With 17 targets through two weeks, I think this is an easy over.
