Film Notes and Highlights

Devin Leary is your traditional pocket passer. He has sustained multiple injuries that have cost him plenty of games while at NC State. When at his best, he shows varying arm angles under pressure and is very good when in rhythm. Leary has good velocity on throws but has never been great when throwing more than 20 yards down the field. He was very inconsistent in 2023 and did not show the bounce-back performance I was hoping for. I am not sure if it was the new system but the accuracy was not what I was used to seeing from Leary in 2023. This past season he had 10 games of under 60% completion percentage and six games under 200 passing yards. Now in the NFL, quarterbacks need to be able to move around and improvise – that is something Leary struggles with. – Brandon Haye
